Pak Hindu rally

dec 18th, 2008

if you put a gun to their heads, people will support anything.

the proper thing to do with captured mohammedan terrorists (eg. the duo who were released during the kandahar episode) would have been to have them appear tearfully on TV and say they completely rejected everything to do with mohammedan terrorism, repudiating mohammed and mohammedanism, and that in fact they did not want to be released from indian jails. of course, they would say this -- and anything else -- if they were being prodded by bayonet point just beyond the range of the camera. a broken arm or leg would also have helped.

this can very well be done with this kasab fellow.

imagine the propaganda value of such a thing.

'San' comments that dhimmitude must be deeply ingrained over there.  That's quite unfair, given the circumstances those people live in.
Note that "Many in Pakistan's minority Hindu community are poor farm workers."  These are most probably the Haris of Sindh.  How "normal" their life is may be inferred from some of these accounts:
A choice excerpt:
For the haris living on vast banana or sugar estates, the landlords are
akin to God: quick to anger, slow to forgive, and unanswerable to no one.
They rule unencumbered by such modern niceties as land reform, taxation,
trade unions or rights legislation.

"All landlords think...haris are their property," Mr. Pathan said.

So much so...landlord Ibrahim Mangrio did not worry about witnesses when
he grabbed Meran Devi by the hair and dragged her into a field. "He would
rape me in front of my mother, he would rape me in front of the entire
world," Meran said.

So, I tend to agree with Biga Ram.  Any organization that provides even food and water and digs wells in the desert must, under the circumstances, must seem like a saviour to anyone who is even remotely interested in survival.  However, note that Biga Ram still considers herself a Hindu and a non-Muslim.  This is in stark contrast to all those highbrow, high-flying swamis and assorted yoga/vedanta preachers who coyly deny their Hindu identity at the first available opportunity.  (e.g.  Deepak Chopra, Swami Hiranmayananda of Ramakrishna Mission etc.)  As Koenraad Elst put it:
"There may be situations where surrender is the lesser evil.  Thus, we should not judge those Hindus too harshly who saved their skins by succumbing to brutal Islamic pressure to convert.  But in the past two centuries, when the oppressors were mere liberal Britons and smug Nehruvians, remaining loyal to Hinduism didn't take that much bravery.  The man who sees his friends abandon him when he is out of luck, though all they risk by keeping his company is a bit of a bad name by association, has the right to take a skeptical view of not just their friendship, but of their character as well.  Even his enemy, who sees the so-called friends cross over to his own side, will not have a high opinion of them."

Krishnan, my suggestion is that people emigrate to India, rather than live like slaves over there. Nothing can be gained by trying to stick it out amongst a bunch of animalistic thugs.
