that's what the stoic reaction of mumbai people is: it is the sound of helplessness. they know the weak-kneed government is incapable of doing anything other than mouthing platitudes while innocent people are led to slaughter like lambs. this is what, in the end, will lead to a huge backlash and attacks on mohammedans. that backlash is not a concern for the pakistanis, because the deaths of indian mohammedans is just fine with them. they are willing to sacrifice anything, including their country, if only it causes problems for india.
and india should oblige. india should 'encourage' sacrifices for pakistan's army brass and the 23 families that control that country's economy. there are various ways of doing this, looking at where they are most vulnerable, but it is not appropriate for me to say more publicly. suffice to say, i repeat, where are they most vulnerable? not on funds, as there are plenty of petro-dollars sloshing around. so what else are individual generals' soft corners? the low-hanging fruit, that's the ticket.
if there is pain imposed on them, they will think twice before imposing pain on innocent indian civilians.
by the way, let us be clear that in the lexicon of mohammedan terrorists, "innocent" is defined as "mohammedan non-combatant". all non-mohammedans are ipso fact wicked people, including wicked infants and wicked toddlers.
now, it is true that israel's muscular counter-attacks have not stopped violence against their civilians; but surely the terrorist thinks twice when he knows that the result of his suicide bombing is that his mother will be freezing, begging in the streets, with her house bulldozed. thus, israel has reduced the number of attacks and casualties it takes.
on the other hand, the consequence of attacks on indian civilians? nothing. absolutely nothing. except for the exceptional terrorist who is terrified by the hot air emanating from the very well-protected politicians in delhi. if these politicians really meant what they said, why don't they drop their Z-level protection and black cat commandos and be exposed just like the common man? and i'd like to know how many mohammedan commandos are protecting sonia gandhi and arjun singh. let me take a wild guess: zero.
it's as i said once before: if there is a compulsory draft and the children of delhi's glitterati were out there facing terrorist bullets, india would have pulverized musharraf long ago. but today those taking the hits are either the poor soldiers or the poor, harmless civilians.

If a wife wants to live with her abusive husband who should be blamed? The wife or her husband? Indian people had an alternative. Otherwise how can one explain people voting for the likes of Sonia Gandhi, Arjun Singh et all. As you sow so you reap.
Now since the election system is not working for the anybody's good, I think it is time people think about some other practical alternative. There are many alternatives. One would be privatising. In many places that is already happening. Like Salwa Judum, Ranvir sena etc. In Ceylon it is going on for a long time. So in the long run, if more such events happens things will definitely go out of control.
We Indians have this perverse habit of not learning from History. History has again and again taught and shown us the enemy. But we still decide to appease them. There is only one way out for Rabid Dog.
More shocking was the way politicians are sucking up to SIMI. Any other country they might not have seen daylight again!
Years of Subjucation has made us spineless. We are shamelessly taking on all the insults being heaped on us. Hope the SUCKulars realise things are on brink

what are the options available? Now Rajeev is talking of some top secret low hanging fruits. I don't know if he got that from Brahma. It seems like nobody is even listening to Brahma. He talks and talks about how bad the nuclear deal is with US But the deal is cruising.
These guys would have done some good if they had targetted these corrupt and eunuch politicians.
What we listen is from media. Everybody talking about SIMI and involvement of neighbouring country. But, i feel these blasts are a kind of "attention altering" technique. There will be some more behind the scenes. In a democratic country, where media (icluding entertainment industry) and business ventures are funding by "black sources" and education is controlled by ruling mafia according to their interest what we can expect? Only hope, at least in future is alternative education. We should ready to realize where we are standing. We are not in need of "Useless Graduates", we should train the young generation to be self sufficient and develop enterprenurial skills. Hope, this continues attacks to our lifes may force us to think about giving the real values of life to our childrens.

Ravindra Shining, you seem to be out of touch with reality. If you think that the Bombay bombings are some kind of ultra-clever plot by "the ruling mafia" to distract the masses, then I pity you. These bomb attacks were carried out by Muslim militants who likely recieved assistance from Pakistan.
San, you sounded like Indian Express or TOI for a second. Militants? and Likely?
Sage what does 'Ijhadaaz' mean? Surely it is a Urdu word, which is anathema to a lot of us here, and people south of the vindhyas don't understand it. Why use the language of our sworn enemies? Leave it to the likes of Kuldip Nayar, Shekar Gupta and our Prime Moron, Shikhandi "Eunuch" Singh. You might want to use Sankritized Hindi to get your point across.
Arjun Singh Antuly says it's RSS
Can you believe, it's hardly 3 days after the horror. In the cabinet meeting, they did not discuss what to do to next but discussed how to blame RSS.
Do any of you guys think Arjun Singh is a Paki/Arab mole in Indian government, and not just a pseudo-sec and muslim appeaser?

Around the same time as President Bush visited India, the Congress- and Communist-dominated state legislature of Kerala passed a unanimous resolution seeking the release, on "compassionate grounds," of a Muslim extremist who masterminded a series of explosions that killed 58 people in the southern city of Coimbatore in 1998. A cabinet minister took his appeasement policy to the absurd level of joint meetings with a look-alike of Osama bin Laden!
Over the past two years, India has been in a state of denial over mounting evidence that the emerging threat is not from those acting at the behest of their controllers in Islamabad, but homegrown jihadis. In Mumbai, the finger of suspicion is pointing to terrorist modules based in either the town of Aurangabad, east of Mumbai, or the cyber-city of Hyderabad, to the south. Last month, police seized an incredible 43 kilograms of RDX and 13 AK-47s from the tourist town of Ellora, near Aurangabad. The man facing charges for organizing the bombings in the temple town of Varanasi on March 7 this year is an imam from a neighboring town who was once a full-time SIMI organizer. An audacious attack on the disputed mosque in Ayodhya last year, too, was facilitated by local Muslims acting in concert with terrorists who entered from Bangladesh.
The suggestion that Islamist terrorism has developed strong roots within India is one that the government in New Delhi does not relish. The Congress Party, the regional parties and the Communists who are the constituents of the ruling coalition, depend substantially on Muslims -- 13% of the population -- for political sustenance. This explains why Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has encountered strong resistance against pressing on with India's deepening strategic relationship with the U.S. It also accounts for the government's complete unwillingness to act on intelligence reports that the protests against George Bush's visit in February had the financial backing of the clerics in Iran.

Little off topic, but this piece of crap on Huffingtonpost must be responded forcefully

bly24301,
dont bother with HuffPost. A waste of time, really..The bombings were not even the lead story, unlike EVERY OTHER NEWS WEBSITE.
Most lefty bloggers didnt bother to mention it 'coz it doesnt fit in with their agenda..
Good read about America's ambivalence on terrorism
Rajeev,
low-hanging fruit = son in the US?
Rajeev, I think it is more like 45 families these days that run Pukistan. Still not a very big number. Agree about the low hanging fruits. Hit the Paki Generals where it hurts them the most. I hope you pass on your ideas to the concerned people in the Indian establishment. I just can't believe what the Israelis are doing. 2 Isreali soldiers are kidnapped, and Israel invades Lebanon and bombs their roads & cities. 200 Indians are killed by Pakis and Shikhandi Singh waxes eloquent about the Mumbai spirit.
I take exception to your statement :
" Now, it is true that israel's muscular counter-attacks have not stopped violence against their civilians " ;
You cannot judge Israel based on its ability or inability to stop violence against its civialians.
It does not have a shield of 2 Oceans and 2 friendly neighbours like the US. The success of Israel can be measured on only one fact. ISRAEL EXISTS . A nation, with less than half the population of Mumbai exists, inspite of 50 long years near the epicenter of Jihad; Inspite of being surrounded an all sides by terrorist nations.
Just imagine Mumbai or New York being plucked from its current place and planted in the center of the jihadi world. How many years do you think it will survive ?
Stuff like
this make my blood boil. Now it's all about 'common' muslims...
Pankaj: Absolutely correct about Israel.
Can someone explain this:
Scenario One: Terrorists attacked the Indian Parliament. No politician died. The Indian army was mobilized and posted at the border ready for war. Well the war never happened but never the less the government took strong action and geared itself for war.
Scenario Two: Terrorists bombed and killed 200 people and injured thousand others. The Indian Government issued a few strong statements and condemened terrorism. It also praised the Mumbaikar/Indian/Hindu/Muslim/Christian/FC/OBC/BC/SC/ST spirit. It has been three days since the attack. Not even a fly has been moved to even taunt the terrorists in "we all know where".
Why the difference in action for the two scenarios? Are worthless politicians lives more precious than ordinary Indians? Are the Laloos, Mulayams, Arjuns--- more important than ordinary economic growth contributing Indians?
Why the apartheid? I'm baffled.
There is no chance India will become a non-democratic Hindu state, inspite of the fond dreams of many. India could become a sham democracy where Muslims control elections by hook or crook.
If non-muslims forcefully vote against parties that woo muslims, India might improve. The chance of that seems remote. It is far easier to get an Indian to vote against a brahmin than against a muslim. That is the bitter truth!!
I am amazed that not a single journalist has seen it fit to report the number of OBC's that died in the blasts; and also the number of SC/ST's; number of women; number of children; number of mothers; and so on. The total might be more than 1000. We simply do not have any good journalists..or the good ones are already sold out to China; Russia, or Saudi.
I love it - the title of your next article should be "Silence of the lambs". Let no one hide behind his incompetence by diverting our attention to the vitual glory of Mumbai lambs.
One IBN headline of today - "communal twist to blasts" !!
As if there was nothing communal about the blasts.. What a twist. What an audacity of the Indian media. They would have been afraid to do this if they were amongst lambs. Hindus, I conclude, are worse than lambs.
