kargil day

july 25th, 2006

july 26th is kargil day. a moment of silence and reflection, please.

those men died so that you and i could live in comfort. they gave their todays for our tomorrows.

alas, also so that the likes of pankaj mishra and shekhar gupta could lie in comfort as well and dishonor the memory of these poor men (yes, mostly poor villagers from the gangetic basin) who shed their blood.

Rajeev,

Please don't take it amiss,

but those who died were Indians who sacrificed their life for their Mother.

I am first and foremost an Indian and then a Bhayya.

Regards

There were those who sacrificed their lives for Bharat Mata and then there are these three traitors (wanna guess their religion...)...and this is what reports the Toilet Paper of India:

Three Indian soldiers admit to terror links...

JAMMU/NEW DELHI: Three Indian Army soldiers have admitted to providing logistics support to terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), but the authorities stressed they were too junior to have any access to vital information.

The trio - a sepoy, a lance naik and a naik, the three lowest ranks of the Indian Army - have been in custody since July 8 and have admitted to providing three SIM cards (meant for mobile phone connection), batteries, boots and food to LeT cadres after the terror group threatened their families, highly placed army sources said on Wednesday.

"It does not appear that anything sensitive has been passed on," a source said, adding that the issue would figure Thursday in form of a starred question that Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee would answer in the Lok Sabha.

The trio, sepoy Abdul Haq, lance naik Mohammad Shakeel and naik Mohammad Sharief, belong to the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI) and were posted in a border area of the Jammu region.

All of them belong to Gursai area of Mendhar in Poonch district bordering Pakistan-administered Kashmir where incursions are said to be very common.

They were on leave when sleuths of the police, army and intelligence agencies picked them up for interrogation.

These soldiers had come under the scanner on the basis of the information put together by investigating agencies following the interrogation of one Tipu, a LeT operator.

Tipu was arrested June 15, three days after the grenade explosions at the Jammu bus stand in which one civilian was killed and 30 were injured.

The LeT operator had revealed the names of two policemen, constables Sikander and Kabir, who had assisted him in staging the grenade explosions as also his future plans, which included assassinating former chief minister Farooq Abdullah at his Bhatindi residence, according to the sources.

On sustained interrogation the three pointed to the soldiers, who were subsequently picked up.

While Sikandar was found to be deeply involved with militancy, Kabir was let off as his involvement was said to be marginal.

The JAKLI, one of the Indian Army's youngest regiments, comprises of around 11 battalions with an strength of 10,000 men that are deployed in various parts of the country. A Territorial Army battalion comprising surrendered militants is also attached to the JAKLI.

The latest incident comes a week after media reports said that National Security Advisor M.K. Narayanan had written a letter to the states cautioning about the possible infiltration of two LeT cadres into the Indian Air Force (IAF).

The IAF immediately clarified that a thorough check of all its personnel had ruled out the presence of any LeT cadres in the force.

A lawyer for the Jehadis declines to defend them !
A case of wisdom finally dawning .

This guy got taken in by the whole "Revenge for Ayodhya" argument. The fact that such argument was actually made - a dismal comment on the English Liberal Media. How long will the Jhollawallahs bury their heads in teh sand? what will it take - a bomb in their building?

Salute the Brave Lt Colonel Sonam Wangchuk

It is said that in time of Crisis we should think of of good things.

Today, I read with shock the news of LeT penetration into Army. It seems even the last lines of defense is breached. But thats a different discussion.

Today is July 26 Vijay Diwas, the seventh anniversary of the Kargil war. Lets take a moment off to remember the Brave Sons of this motherland who fought to protect this nation. On this ocassion Lt Colonel Sonam Wangchuk deserves a special mention. Leading a platoon of 36 braves from the Ladakh Scouts, he climbed an ice wall 80-degree climb at a height of 18,000 feet in the dead of night in the face of heavy Pakistani gunfire. The objective was to capture a vital ridge in the Chorbat La sub-sector in Batalik.

His team outraced the Pakistanis to the ridgetop before decimating them in fierce hand-to-hand combat.
It is brave souls like this who keep our faith alive for this nation.

The foregoing by Chan Akya was facinating. As a Canadian not versed in the intricacies of Indian politics I found Chan's comments very interesting.

In fact I find all this blog to be interesting. I've added you to my favorites list and will visit here regularily.

Keep up the good work.

This is one of the funniest messages ever posted on a website - a rediff reader has a good solution for conflict with Pak sans bloodshed -

" The only thing 2teach pakistan lesson is not war, nuthing. It reminds me one of leader saying long years back.if u strt war, they wil retaliate, again many innocent ppl will loose life.so the best thing is let millions of indian ppl gather at indo-pak border wher the jhelum river flows.

As the only source of water 2 pak, all of us including small children, men, women start urinating in river.do this act for month or so.how many times will they purify the water?the result is not a single Indian dies bcz no war.

And in Pakistan, the ppl will die of thirst.whn we have food,v do require water 2drink. What if we make them die of thirst??let they realize wht it happns whn they use 2kill innocent ppl.If u can kill us this way,we know other alternatives.I know im talking sumthing weird, but think the other way.If war happens, our brave soldiers, innocent ppl like us only will die and our economy will affect. No use going 4war.For eg,a human urinates 2or 3times max.if continued for a month=2*30=60/month/person.calculate wit million ppl.I CAN C END OF PAKISTAN."

In addition to what Barat Karnad has written above - here is another stinging indictment of the Napunsak (i.e. emasculate) Sarkaar's preference for bending over for the Yankees
What a bunch of pussies in charge of our nation. Instead of a Mahavir Paarth we have a dancing Brihannalaa ...
Notice also that our Pinkoos have now swallowed the nuclear deal after making a lot of noise.
I repeat once again. If the Commies are buying it - it's bad for India.

A news item that is too good to be true. Finally one good news coming out of India under siege by anti-Hindu, anti-national, sickular lunatics.

http://www.samachar.com/showurl.htm?rurl=http://www.telegraphindia.com/1060729/asp/nation/story_6540831.asp?headline=Tirupati~Hindu~zone

Tirupati Hindu zone
G.S. RADHAKRISHNA
Hyderabad, July 28: The constitutional guarantee of free religious expression will now be suspended across a 322.68-sq-km (80,628-acre) area around Tirupati’s Balaji temple.

No other religion can be preached — and no mosques or churches built — in this area spread across seven hills, the Tirumala Tirupati Dewasthanam said yesterday.

The Dewasthanam till now controlled a 6,600-acre area that includes Tirumala — the small temple town housing 10,000-15,000 people, mostly temple workers — and the ban applied there. The Andhra government has now handed over to the Dewasthanam the rights to an additional 74,000 acres of surrounding hilly land, mostly a reserved forest.

The move followed a report by a panel of religious heads and retired judges that Christian missionaries were distributing pamphlets and cassettes in and around Tirumala.

A.P.V.N. Sharma, temple executive officer, said the entire area will be declared a religious and autonomous township. “Non-Hindus will no longer be employed in the service of Balaji,” he added. The committee reported that 42 non-Hindus, living just outside Tirumala, were now engaged in peripheral temple-related services, such as transport and accommodation.

Non-Hindu visitors will virtually be barred from the temple. “Even VIPs of other religions will have to sign a declaration that they have faith in Hinduism to gain entry,” a spokesman said.

The Dewasthanam took control of the earlier 6,600 acres six years ago by getting the state to forcibly resettle Tirumala town’s 2,000 hereditary residents. Their properties have been converted into lease land for the temple.

San, what a fantastic post. The woman Wafa Sultan speaks with such force, and precision. That is a new awakening.

Only last week, BBC showed the kafila of cars escaping to North from South Lebanon. One guy and his pregnant wife were stranded - and he was an educated chap, a pharmacist, I believe. I have been wondering, how long will the educated amongst the west asian countries keep up with the death and destruction. I guess it won't be long before more questions will be asked.

Incidentally, she asks some tough questions. One must ask each one of them to Shekhar Gupta... After the destruction of Bamyan Buddha's! In S. Gupta's books, that would have been a good enough reason for China to blast a few nuclear weapons to Afganistan.

Hats off to the lady.

Folks, it is not a secret anymore. There are indeed terrorist fifth columns’ roaming around India as journalists bad mouthing our history, religion, culture, political parties that stand up for Hindus and what not. It is time we take control of media.

Mumbai journalist held for 7/11 links

Mumbai: A journalist of a vernacular daily was arrested on Monday for his alleged links with the July 11 blasts in the city, police said.

Danish Khan, working as a reporter with a local daily, was arrested by the Anti Terrorism Squad under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and will be produced in the court later in the day.

ATS Chief K P Raghuvanshi said that Danish may not be directly involved in the July 11 blasts but is suspected of assisting "subversive" elements.

Documents linking Sheikh with SIMI Raghuvanshi said.

Later on Monday, when Sheikh appeared before a Mumbai court, public prosecutor B F Heere told the court that the suspect had traveled to Iran earlier this year, and that "more than a hundred jihadi books were also found and seized from his residence."

Heere said the literature included 25 copies of a book by SIMI.

''We suspect he sold and distributed the books on jihad in Bombay,'' the prosecutor said. ''He was an active SIMI member and was fluent in English, Hindi, Persian, Arabic and Urdu.''

Arrested under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, Sheikh was ordered held until August 14.

Sheikh is the 10th person arrested since the bombings. Hundreds of people have also been detained across India.

>>There just aren't enough sensible Indians around...

Exactly my thoughts...had Indira Gandhi (the so-called 'Durga', as per Vajpayee's rendering) accepted Israel's suggestion in 1981 that both India & Israel bomb the Kahuta reactor ((the way Isreal had nipped in the bud Iraq's nuclear reactor) by providing refuelling facilities to Israeli jets @ Jamnagar airport, India won't have to live with two nuclear nations (one of them 'rogue, whose only-and-only target is India, even if it gets bombed by other countries) side-by-side....but Indira as is the want of the politicians was more concerned with the 'minority' vote-bank than in the long-term interests of India. Similarly, when she and Congress promoted Bhindrawalein to dislodge the democratically elected Badal govt. in Punjab, after she came back to power in 1980, ultimately proved to be her Waterloo and the best (or worst) thing was when the Bhindrawalein grew too big for his breaches and Gandhi was unable to handle him, then Congress started talking about the unity and integrity of India...all hogwash..just to cover their won follies...I guess nobody told that idiot Indira Gandhi that if you lie with the dogs, you wake up with the fleas...;-))

The problem with India all along (esp. since independence) has been the lack of leaders with spine and vision...those that were there, never got a chance to assume the leadership mantle (read Bose and Patel -- Bose when elected Congress President in 1939, had to face the wrath of Gandhi's supporters as he had defeated Pattabhi Sitaramaiyya, who was Gnadhi's choice for president's post, so much so that in digust he resigned his position and went to Singapore where Ras Bihari Bose was waiting for someone to take over the mantle of leadership of INA, and as for Patel, he was the unanmious choice of Congress Working comm. in 1946 to take over as independent India's first PM, but then Gandhi, who had always been biased towards Nehru, put his foot down and let Nehru fulfil his wish of ascending the PM's chair...and the rest folks, as they say is history), owing to the chicanery and deception, and stubborness of Gandhi and his lackey Nehrus...so here wer are stuck with a moron (and those preceding this idiot) who has no sense of shame, doing the the Italian Barmaid (IB)'s bidding rather than India's...and that IB sitting pretty in her tax-funded coccoon, knowing very fell that Indian masses are so gullible, that they can be fooled again and again (and I guess she has a hearty laugh too everytime these a**-h**** lay supine in front of the benevolent deity of Janpath)....

As I have said again and again...its like you get what you deserve and yatha raja thathaa praja...
