| Dear Fellow Supporter, This is a friendly reminder for Support Dharun Ravi Group's next big event to gather support from our community is on this Friday, May 04, 2012, please see details below. Your presence, along with your spouse/partner, at this event will be highly appreciated. By now, you must be familiar with the State of New Jersey vs. Dharun Ravi case. The media, celebrities and elected public officials misconstrued the facts of this case to the public at large and misconceptions were formed about 18-year old Dharun Ravi's ![]() actions and his character. As a result, Dharun was stripped off his most fundamental right of the "presumption of innocence" under the constitution of the United States. In addition, he was convicted under an ambiguous and vague statute reserved for violent crimes that even the judge called "muddled" during the trial. Dharun is now facing up to ten years in prison and deportation to India. |

It is evident that Dharun has been made a scapegoat for Tyler Clementi's death. Dharun did not have a fair trial in court. It is also apparent that there is an inherent bias in our system to listen to people that come together collectively as "one" voice. Dharun and his family need that "one" voice. Dharun is being robbed of his future and has been living in exile for almost two years. He did something foolish in college as an 18-year old and behaved in a boorish manner BUT his is not a Hate Crime. This cause needs "one loud " voice so that Dharun and his family can be heard. What happened to Dharun can happen to anyone's son or daughter. Dharun Ravi's sentencing date is May 21st, 2012 and he could end up in prison for 10 or more years. We must collectively come together so that this gross injustice is stopped now and never repeated again. Fortunately, we have received unconditional support and commitment from: concerned citizens, prominent leaders, the business community, elected officials as well as major media outlets. We respectfully request your attendance at this event in order to join our "voice", make it louder and let us together obtain justice for Dharun. Thank you for your support.
