we did discuss this film on the blog a few months ago, but reposting on your request. but let me emphasize that i DO NOT ENDORSE PIRACY. i suggest people rent the movie or go see it in a theater. the producers need to recoup enough so that they can make other movies, esp as this was buried by the media everywhere.
yes, agora shows how respectful the RoL semites are to other cultures. they kill those of other cultures and steal their culture. hypatia's case is much like that of the destruction of the temple to pallas athena (i think) that stood at the alleged point of the alleged jesus's alleged crucifixion, as 'divined' by helena in a dream, mother of tyrant constantine, with no other supporting evidence whatsoever.

I watched it 2 weeks ago on a flight thanks to karyakarta's writeup a few months ago. Very very disturbing. I still cannot completely get it out of my mind.
God save us Hindus from aggression of Abrahamic faiths.
The problem is those who should really watch it -- psecs, convent educated, macaulites, our naive swamis, those most vulnerable to conversion -- will never watch it.
So how do we reach it to them. Maybe make a bollywood version of it? But then in that case the aggressor will be the Hindu and the Agora will transform into a Christian damsel.

Watched it too. Wonderfully made. The scenes would not be much different in Portuguese Goa. If we really want to make such in India it all comes to lot of money.
