It seems the end-game for the Af-Pak Fak-ap is being put in place- the dismemberment of Pakistan. The US now realizes that leaving Afghanistan means giving a fulsome victory to the Rawalpindi thugs in khaki. Who won or lost will be a long and pointless debate, but the consensus winner in the case seems to be Pakistan, with their Taleban proxies running over the Afghans. This was the scenario before Bush and his loonies came in. So basically, billions spent to get back to the status quo with a two decade hiatus.
The US does not want to leave. The ISI generals uncorking their champagnes is all but a matter of time.It is all but defeat now for the US, who entered Af-Pak without clear political aims, held by the balls, all the time, by the Taleban and their ISI puppeteers. The scenario is bleak for the Afghans as well. No one can guarantee Ghani and Clowns Co. to survive for much long after the Yanks leave. India can, but the West will not accept that. Iran too can, but the West can't accept that too. The only guarantee of their survival is to dismember Pakistan. That is the only true victory of the US as far as this muddle goes.
