While the Congress Party high command seems to be opposed to it, the father of the Delhi rape victim would like the new rape law to be named after his daughter:

Naturally, the Congress will oppose it, because they want the whole episode to fade from the public's memory - especially their sordid role in it.

He is said to be the most brutal of the six rapists. At the time of the incident, he was 17-and-a-half-year-old, a juvenile in the eyes of the law.
