It will never work. Haven't you seen what happened to the call to boycott India-Paki cricket matches? For my countrymen, both cricket and Republic Day parade are cheap commercial "entertainment", with nothing more to it. R-Day has been brought down to the level of a tamasha, with tickets being sold for persons watching it. Tribal dances, and other items of entertainment not fit even for a village carnival are included in the programme, and claimed to project my country's "cultural heritage".
