lucky italians - always 'tripping' into nice things

o.k - so at least you have to admire the chutzpah of the guy - a most creative explanation.

i am amazed at the skill of some of these italians, how they manage to 'trip' into nice things.

like a certain italian lady 'tripped' (or should I say she also 'tripped up' others) and became an uncrowned queen of a benighted nation.

also her italian children and semi-italianised son-in-law - simply 'tripped' into managing all those 'chaacha', 'grandma' and 'papa' foundations - all of which foundations seemed to have 'tripped' into being sodden with cash (mostly I suspect stolen from schemes that 'tripped' indian villagers into life-long servitude)

another italian 'day tripper' - that de nobili fellow - just happened to 'trip' into composing the "Yesurvedam"

not to forget Il Duce Uncle Benito - who 'tripped' from his early socialist roots into becoming a dictator (not to forget surviving all those assassination attempts).

in fact - i have half a mind of starting the 'greatest italian trip' contest.

finally - I am NOT knocking all Italians - some of which countries' first generation immigrants are my friends - and all lovely folks. Did you know Italians like living in joint-families like us Indians (yes even after they move to North America).

and though they put up a show of being good catholics - once you get to know them - they are full of cruel jokes about El Papa and his gang - all very pungent and hurtful.
