 Reporter, India-West Newspaper


Richard Springer has been a reporter, with special focus on business, politics and immigration, for India-West Newspaper from 1990 to the present.

From 1989-1993, he was the editor of China Trade Magazine.


In 1989-91, he was a consultant for the University of California at Berkeley. The work involved helping with the university's outreach to the Asian American press and Asian American donors.


From 1970-1989, he was an associate editor, a columnist and a reporter for East-West Newspaper, a bilingual Chinese American newspaper in San Francisco.

He is a founding member of the Media Alliance in San Francisco and he has free-lanced for the San Francisco ChronicleCity Magazine, Pacific News Service and KQED-TV.


He was presented a New California Media Award "for years of distinguished reporting for ethnic newspapers" in 1997.
