ISRO Tests Scramjet Aboard Sounding Rocket

The Indian Space Research Organization has successfully flew a scramjet onboard a sounding rocket, passing for a short period in the hypersonic flight regime. The engine was not ignited, but was merely mounted on the rocket as a preliminary test, with measurements being taken to prepare for the real flight test.

This testing program is meant to be similar to the HyShot test done at Woomera in Australia, and is part of India's HSTDV program.
