there is more: it is quite likely that 'gangadhar nehru' or actually 'ganga dhar' was a pathan named ghiyasuddin ghazi who ran away from the delhi cantonment where he was a kotwal, when the british started beating up the mohammedans after 1857. he acquired the new moniker 'ganga dhar' and showed up as a boatman on a river in j&k. hence 'nehru' from 'nehar' for river.

I think China has unknowingly done us a good turn. The farther we keep from the likes of ADB and World Bank the better.
BTW, are the Chinese contrarians when it comes to strategy, i.e. do they just support the opposite of what they perceive could be good for India? They did that with the nuclear deal too when they changed their official stance based on their understanding of whether the deal is good or bad for India.
