Ghent University's Professor S.N. Balagangadhara put together this very interesting workshop on the question of secularism and religion in India. It is interesting to see the otherwise fire-breathing secular icons quiet down when confronted by serious academics. The Prof's contention that European experience of India - especially of her religions - was deeply colored by Semitic stereotyping is perfectly true. and it also explains much of the compulsory, hysterical and forced vilification of Hinduism. interesting that the prof is an ex-Marxist.
why can not someone simply relay entire such conferences on TV in India? I have longed argued for a "C-SPAN India" type operation - generates low-budget programming and offer it up for low payment subscription. Someone is going to make a lot of money doing just this ....sigh!

Why cannot that someone be you? Of course with investments from like minded people like us here.
