Controlling and manipulating Lord Hanuman with a joystick/button/keyboard/mouse was denigration. Lord Hanuman was not meant to be reduced to just a “character” in a video game to solidify company/products base in the growing economy of India.

Sony Entertainment's Hanuman videogame under attack from priest:
Oh good grief. If there can be so many comicbook illustrations of Hanuman, then there's nothing wrong with a videogame. There's nothing wrong with trying to make Hanuman a part of popular culture. It's not like he's on underwear, or something. Videogames are rapidly overtaking movies as the most popular cultural medium.

Maybe the hanuman propagated by the video game is not the Hanuman many indians worship.
Comic book illustrations most often try to sincerely depict Hanuman as the cultural icon that he is. eg. Amar Chitra Katha.
Video games may not .
I have to agree with the priest that the Hanuman videogame should be withdrawn. But not because of any religious reasons.
Apparently this is the most god-awful (pun, pun!) game to hit any console in recent history. (Review.) Even novice programmers should be able to do better in a couple of months. All this is doing is drop the standard for videogames in India.
Good God. Yes!
Brother and sisters we have to pick the fights that are worth it and not those that will make us the laughing stock of the world.
Remember you have a big responsibility on your shoulders - the perpetuation of a 5000 year old civilization.
