This comment is telling on how they scapegoated him:

in the congressional hearings, the white guys made sundar pichai, the lone non-white guy, the focus of 'anti-america' verbiage. tho tim cook is probably doing a lot more anti-america stuff by keeping 80% of his supply chain in china.
