Personally – I am not sure if Israel had a grand choice in this matter. And by the numbers (1 for 1027) this looks an even worse deal than Vajpayee’s government made (193 for 3 – and possibly loads of money). It is sad to see Israel going the Hindu way and meekly caving in
Pipes has been a Netanyahu-sceptic for a long time. He may be right – someone like Yitzhak Shamir would have told these violent thugs to go take a walk
