I could not agree with Rajeev more.

The problem with India is that it has never thought and planned big say 20 years hence - where and what should we be in the world. All the thinking has been about internal politics and survival. Congress has been the biggest culprit from the Nehru era for vague NAM stand, cavorting with the Commies and now fixated with Pakistan and looking at providing cyber coolie service. India' internal politics (read Congress minority appeasement) which cripples its foreign policies is all about looking good and fitting in and about how well we take are of our minorities. No one even raised a eyebrow on the latest Uighur muslim crack down in China or the Tibetian crack down before the Olympics.

Indian never had the spine to stand out and be counted as a country to reckon with. I would rather India be be a la Iran than a political nit wit who anyone can pick on.

This type of leadership can come only from a Nationalistic leadership like BJP and RSS and not from Congress which actually is the most communal party.

Posts that predicted such a outcome from a Democrat government under Obama and Ms. Clinton in the US.

I meant to post this earlier, but, as usual, laziness got the better of me.

Here is a list of useful links The first three are all a must read) that paint a good picture of China's nuclear proliferation activities. Basically ALL of the proliferation in the world since 1982 has been by China and its nuclear proxies. Since about 1997, China has been playing a cleverer good/bad cop game; not proliferating overtly, but doing it covertly through its proxies ("bad cop" = Gabbar Singh), while, at the same time, posturing publicly as a good samaritan ("good cop" = Amitabh Bachchan).

Did you note how spineless RaMMSo government (Raul-MM-So) avoided 26/11 anniverssary by being in USA? And also they took page from dirty tricks on Republicans here by releasing Liberhan report to distract people from its own shameful non-governance?

I agree entirely with the article but I wonder how Rajeev has not become cynical enough to even care to write such articles.
