I have to disagree here. US does not need socialism. India improved when it started moving away from socialism. The US healthcare system is better than the healthcare system in other countries. Brits and Canadians now flock to India to escape their system. Even Sweden with just 9 million people has waiting lists!
well, arvind, nobody is talking about socialism. think more in terms of aravind eye clinic (see video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cjnNPua7Ag ) or the efficacy of ayurveda as opposed to "needless" processes so widely used in america.
US needs socialism so that there will be less "capital" to "invest" in India's "social landscape" ie christian conversions. Socialism is simply the exhausted shell of a Colonialist society.
Which is better for indian society?
1. today's two-bit socialist Britain whose captured navymen were videotaped playing pingpong by the iranians 2. yesterday's capitalist (read colonialist) nexus between BEIC and Crown which turned India upside down.

Let the Amrikans languish in socialism.
