I share your concern with regards to this. I am firmly convinced that Congress party is under instructions from the west to systematically destroy our education system which has proved its mettle in the past 3 decades.
The first step in this direction was Sibal's directive of doing away with Secondary School examinations ( STD X) to LIGHTEN THE BURDEN ON STUDENTS as he put it.
The hunger strike by IIT faculty is yet another proof that Congress party is practicing plain treachery with the Union of India.
Not to mention of the state of the Universities in India.
In this I see a ray of hope, Narendra Modi on the other hand is busy strengthening the Universties in Gujarat and I sincerely hope that like in all other aspects of governance, Gujarat will be rallying point for the education sector.
Good opportunity for a Venture Capitalist to start a private university to rival the IITs. I believe he has to make it a Jain or Sikh minority institution so as to escape from reservations. Many good Profs will be willing to switch.
Not to worry. Sibal, always ahead of the sepoy curve, has already invited Australian Universities to India. Indians can now be indoctrinated with missionary/orientalist propaganda directly by the colonizer.
