nytimes on londonistan

june 26, 2006

there will be a mohammedan republic in londonistan pretty soon. and that, i think, would be quite a cosmic joke: the imperialists par excellence colonized and dhimmified.

i skimmed the article; but noted that they have 'awarded' deoband to pakistan. amazing, isn't it, that one of the hardest-line schools of mohammedanism is in deoband, india?

This kind of ignorance is not surprising from NYT.."the newspaper of record." In the aftermath of 7/7 London incident one of their illustrious journalist interviewed two teenagers from London south asian muslim areas named "Shahrukh" and "Salman". Just recently, they had an article on Akshardham temple in New Delhi and a picture with the article had a caption something like "an elephant statue adorning walls of the temple" though the statue was clearly of Lord Ganesha not an elephant. They didn't even have the sense to call it, as they condescendingly do, "elephant headed god." But I guess it is too much to expect from people who consider a "donkey riding carpenter" as son of god.
