An Op-Ed piece in the NYT argues that Muslims today are being treated like Catholics were a half-century ago by the rest of America:
I don't see that the mistrust is unjustified, but I will agree that there are aspects of Islam which are similar to Catholicism, which is why both communities may develop politically convergent interests. It would certainly explain NYT's biased advocacy for all things Islamic. But how would Catholic countries themselves treat large numbers of Muslim immigrants? I think we all know.
