U.S., Pakistan must "divorce"

The United States and Pakistan should stop pretending they are allies and amicably "divorce," Husain Haqqani, Pakistan's former ambassador to Washington said on Wednesday.
He cited a survey by the Pew Research Center showing roughly three-in-four Pakistanis consider the United States an enemy, even though the United States pours billions of dollars of aid into the country.

Strange that this guy uses the word 'marital bond', whilst they were just shacked up together for the one and only express purpose of keeping India in its 'place'.

It is really grating on the nerves to read columns by self-proclaimed analysts who waste reams on the usual and oft-repeated garbage on subcontinental issues.

As this is not a marriage but a transactional relationship between a client and a prostitute, the term divorce does not apply.
