The French were working for an NGO believed to have links with frontal organisations of Maoists. "We strongly suspect that they visited Maoist strongholds in Jamui and Simultala and held meetings deep in the forests," a police official said.

The group is thought to have arrived in India earlier this month and travelled to Bihar after visiting south India. One was reported to be on an employment visa.

Liberation theology exponents. Ditto, the so called Italian tourists abducted in Orissa by Maoists. It is an elaborate stage managed hoax - reminds me of Rubaiya Sayeed's "abduction" by Kashmiri militants to secure the release of hardened Jihadis.
