Interstellar Object Detected Passing Near Earth

Astronomers have for the first time detected what they believe is an interstellar object from outside our solar system, found to currently be passing near the Earth:

The object's trajectory clearly shows that it has come from outside the solar system. Some commentators are calling it "Rama", after the similarly-named alien ship in Arthur C Clarke's novel, "Rendezvous with Rama".

Unfortunately, no such rendezvous will be possible in this case, since the object is traveling much too fast to catch up with (15 miles/second)
