NYT's Dynastic Dictatorship in Disarray

NYT's ruler Arthur Sulzberger Jr, the dynastic heir who inherited the newspaper from his daddy, has decided to show who's boss by firing his Executive Editor, Jill Abramson:

Sulzberger-Jr was fearful that assertive woman Abramson had antagonized his vote bank leader, Dean Baquet, and thus unceremoniously ditched Abramson in order to appease him. Party high command quickly moved to back "yuvaraj" Sulzberger Jr by using NYT's massive media mouthpiece to issue leaks to attack Abramson.

Lesson to any future female employees of "yuvaraj" Sulzberger Jr:
Vote Bank Matters More Than Women, so don't upset the Vote Bank if you want to keep your job. Also, don't try to push for gender-equity inside the liberal Ivory Tower, since NYT's preaching is only meant for show and not to be practiced at home.

Dynasty loyalists like Ravi Somaiya are rushing to the defense of yuvaraj, tweeting that his firing of Abramson had nothing to do with gender pay-equity. Good thing sepoys are on hand to assist in damage control - every dynasty needs them. Meanwhile, it remains to be seen whether Vote Bank leader Baquet can fill Abramson's shoes, since his past experience mainly consists of being available for photo-ops.

No word on whether self-styled eminent liberals like Tarun Tejpal may be eligible to apply for any job vacancies at NYT.
