new cardinal from kerala; what happened to thattumkal, former bishop?

first, an amerindian was sainted. nice irony in that amerindians were subject to genocide (still are) by white christians. 

now an indian is a cardinal. after a lot were converted at gunpoint by 'saint' xavier and pals.

anyway, nice marketing moves by the vatican. 

the choice of thottumkal is interesting -- i would have thought they would keep away from anybody reminding the public of the late lamented thattumkal. 

thattumkal was spirited away to the vatican after he 'adopted' a nubile 26 year old, sprinkled his palace with her blood, and predicted that she would deliver a boy child who would be born holding an iron rod. hilarious stuff. i wonder if the vatican has any provision similar to the 72 virgins for pickled priests (who was being flambed, apologies to The Who and 'athena').
