IBM Nanotube Chip Breakthrough

IBM has achieved a breakthrough in the fabrication of hybrid chips made from carbon nanotubes and conventional silicon switches:

These chips may help to extend the performance improvement curve for microprocessors, which has been feared to be coming to an end.
