petitions are nice and people should sign it, but see how the mohammedans manage book-banning. in karnataka they got a newspaper to apologize -- get this, for writing an article about purdah, by taslima nasrin! no, not about mohammed. no, no mohammed cartoon. no, no nude mohammedan ladies. no, no scurrilous sexual innuendos about revered mohammedan deities.
in other words, it ain't danish cartoons. it ain't 'satanic verses'. it ain't mf hussain paintings. it ain't doniger's vomit.
yet, they were able to get the censorship in place. amazing, isn't it? how *do* they do it?
i guess dhimmitude and fear of mohammedans combines to give them an advantage. also, there must be petro-dollars flowing freely esp. from 'interlocutor' saudi arabia, manmohan's newest best friend.

If you don't agree with the book, DO NOT BAN IT. What you can do is to present your side of the story; give arguments in support of your position, in a civilized manner.
