i still think it's not a statistically valid study, because of the tiny numbers and the many groups -- 15 groups studied and labelled 'dravidian' etc. according to the physorg report san posted. so they have studied only like 10 individuals/group, which seems prone to error.
anyway, here are the researchers categorically denying 'aryan' invasion garbage. sorry san, you were too hasty to claim this supported the 'aryan' bullshit -- that was your interpolation, and was not in the report. in fact, they are saying here that it may have been 'out of india', ie. oppenheimer's and kilvisid's theory that europeans were derived from indians moving northwest, which would explain any genetic similarity. fine turnabout, that: darn whites are just mutant (explains pale skin and funny colored eyes/hair) indians!

Many times I've wondered about San's postings and choice of words. Sometimes they do not reflect spirit of this blog.
Great! I can't wait for Dienekes sorry ass to read this. I wonder if some new invasion theory will be something on these lines: "White Caucasian Horse Riding Proto-Indo-European Language Teacher That Digs Black Indian Aboroginal Chicks Changes The Indian Genetic Landscape Theory"
The problem is that the blind euro-centrics will yet again say that this study is biased and will ignore it since the co-authors clearly state that there is the 'possibility' that ANI populated Eurasia (ie. they dismiss the AIT).
well, ronojoy, i have already propagated my 'aryan' tourist theory, which is along the same lines.
"tall, blond, handsome, 'aryan' tourists arrived in india by thundering over the khyber pass in their horse-drawn chariots, got to impregnate native women, and made a living teaching everybody sanskrit (which they had acquired while thundering down the khyber), and probably modeling."
thus the 'aryan' genes in the indian population.
the indus-sarasvati script, which according to steve farmer, is not a language, is in fact the recording of visas for these 'aryan' tourists.
why, 'aryan' tourists do precisely the same (minus chariots etc.) in china, japan etc. today where they teach english and model. so they must have done this in ancient india, too.
QED.
Rajeev,
I have this query for long time. My father is little black, whereas my mother is fair.. Similarly, i had observed that in most communities, including the SCs, the males are mostly dark skinned, while majority females are fair skinned..
Now, based on AIT, the aryans are supposed to be fair skinned, whereas the dravidians are supposed to be dark skinned..
If actually, aryans had enslaved dravidians, would they allow their women to marry the slave dravidians?
Also, i heard from my friend, that 2500 years back, the greeks and romans were considered as barbarians, uncivilized, but tend to be technical workers building chariots & other war machines..
Also, they are described as drunkard, often quarrelling..
My friend also told, that the romans and greeks on those days, supplied their women to indian kings.. :) i dont know if its true, but there is a great and famous novel in tamil, called "Ponniyin Selvan" written by kalki, where i remember reading in that, a minister of the chola king had procured a beautiful greek lady as his mistress..
Ofcourse, hadnt they done the same during partition by luring nehru with edwina :)
"Now, based on AIT, the aryans are supposed to be fair skinned, whereas the dravidians are supposed to be dark skinned.."
This is not true among tamil brahmins (so called aryans) where you will find more dark skinned brahmins than fair. This phenomenon of dark skinned brahmins is peculiar to TN only. Brahmins of Mahashtra are very rarely dark skinned.
Here is an interesting take on Indus vally script by VS Ramachandran the renowned neuroscientist. Worth a read though it kind of tends towards Iravatham Mahadevan's take on Indus script.
