India should continue research on other battery chemistries -- sodium, zinc etc. Maybe focus more on trucks and buses than on passenger cars, which are choking our cities.
Zinc-air batteries have high energy density. Sodium has lowest cost of course. Solid state batteries also have high energy density, and better low-temperature tolerance due to absence of liquid electrolytes.
