Congress has a problem, as chandy has a majority of only one in kerala assembly. There is a by-election in piravam soon. If they lose it chandy govt will fall. The Marxists will surely make a lot of noise about imperialism before the election and claim Italian colonialism.
This is why the congress is arresting the Italians. Otherwise they would have let them go like quattrochhi

Eventhough chandy government is only on a slender majority , he is doing well with major infrastructural projects like Smart City an IT venjure , High speed rail corridor , which is one lakh crore project in collabration with japan , metro rail , and sky train and several other projects . In the area of Industry , in which kerala is way backwards the govrrnment is doing everything to attract inbestment . Apart from that , this government is also pro - poor with allocating rice for 2 rupees and other pro-poor policies . So this goverment is aliked by both poor and rich
men in the state . And if Chandy government falls by this election it will be a major loss to the people of kerala , as no government has done this much good things to the state in this short period of nine month . So i think people will have a fair go on this.
