Personally, I think this kind of trip may be ill-advised while so many Pakistanis are freshly foaming at the mouth over Kashmir. Texas has easy access to firearms, and all it takes is one fanatic in the crowd with a gun - or even with a rifle in a Texas schoolbook repository building - and the worst could happen. Then the Red-Green conspiracy theorists would claim that Modi somehow planned it that way, and NYT would let Imran Khan publish an Op-Ed explaining how.
Let's all remember how Modi's appearance in NYC's Madison Square Garden was rather over-the-top, and a bit of a circus. A more conventional lower-profile visit would be better.
