Guess Like his leaders from a certain family, Mr Ramesh was also born with a silver foot in his mouth :) .. Sorry for plagiarising this - Ann Richards said this abt George H W Bush in the keynote speech in '88.
I go with jairam ramesh.. the quality of indian version of foreign universities will not be same as their parent one.. they are not divine people to train indians on par with them..
Secondly, it will pull away all qualified professors in indian university which will be a loss to them..
If we really want to setup world class university, we can do that by bringing back indian professors working abroad, and also by establishing more autonomous industry oriented institutions.
We need to create new systems right from scratch..
Btw, i really wonder at how Jiaram Ramesh could speak independantly and that too nationalistically by being in congress.. remember his earlier tirade against british gowns for convocation.. i will really kiss his feet for making such bold statements..
