Remembering Swami Lakshmananda on the 10th anniversary of his martyrdom..

The day was Janmashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna; a day celebrated across India.  A group of armed men had descended upon the girls school, lobbing grenades and firing machine guns into the air. The headmistress of the school was gunned down as she attempted to shield the life of her mentor, the 82 year old monk and founder of the school, Swami Lakshmananda . A visiting parent along with two junior monks were also killed as the young students fled for their lives.

Odisha, Commonly known as Orissa, has a history going back thousands of years, Odisha was once an ancient maritime power that conducted trade from Rome to Japan. To this day festivals like Bali Yatra and Japan's Ulumbana Festival remain as testaments to Odisha's ancient and broad cultural influence.

Odisha is home to a majority of India's Tribal people. The Kandha people of Odisha are one of India's major tribal groups and they are centered in the Kandhamal District. This region of Kandhamal was once home to some of the most ancient Shiva and Buddhist temples and monasteries in the world. The famous Chinese Buddhist pilgrim Huen Tsang traversed the Kandhamal trail on his way to the Buddhist sites of Bihar in the year 436 AD.

Regrettably Orissa's indigenous cultures have long been the target of various vested interests. In recent times foreign funded Maoists terror groups and foreign religious groups have ravaged the social fabric of the region. Recognizing the ongoing threats to the tribal people various Hindu groups and leaders have dedicated their resources towards the upliftment of India's Tribal communities.

One such Hindu leader was Swami Lakshmananda Saraswati. He Created an Indigenous Cultural Renaissance in Orissa's Kandhamal District. He restored many ancient tribal holy places and schools. Swamiji established Radha Krishna temples throughout the region along with over 380 Kirtan groups.

Swami Lakshmananda stated in a 2008 interview. "I was attacked on January 26, 1970. I had to hide myself in a school for over three hours. Nobody came to my rescue. Then I thought that so many Hindus were there as I was attacked but no one came forward at the time of the attack. It was then that I vowed to reignite the light of conviction in the hearts of the Hindus. I established Srimad Bhagavat classes, Radha Krishna deities and opened evening prayer and choir centers. I taught the people how to farm properly, how to worship Mother Cow and how to protect the forests."

He was later assassinated as he prepared for Janmashtami celebrations in August 2008 by Maoists and Christian Terrorists at a Girl's School he founded.The day chosen for his assassination was also seen as an intentional provocation. The day was Janmashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna; a day celebrated across India. The location of the assassination also caused great anguish to the tribes people. In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 34 US lawmakers have expressed “grave concerns” over “increasing intolerance and violence” against members of minority communities in India.

Nearly 50 children, who were kept in two illegal children's homes in Jaipur for months with little food amid pathetic living conditions, have been rescued by a team of Rajasthan Commission for Protection of Child Rights, police said on Wednesday.

On a tip off from Delhi the team led by the Commission Chairperson Deepak Kalra raided a home in Mansarover area on Tuesday night where 27 girls and two boys, aged between five and 17, were found. They were lodged in an illegal children's home run by one Jacob John.

Another such child home was also raided and 20 boys were rescued in Jawahar Nagar locality, they said. The children were brought in Jaipur on the pretext of providing them education were never sent to school and not allowed to go out of the home.

Jacob has been arrested for illegal confinement of kids and he is being quizzed, they said.

KOCHI: A Catholic church in central Kerala has banned the Suryanelli gang-rape victim and her relatives from entering the church.


St Francis Xavier Church at Sachivothamapuram near Kurichy in Kottayam district is said to have issued the directive two weeks ago. The church falls under Vijayapuram diocese and was established in 1906.

As the residents in the area have come to know the identity of the victim and her family,
it is better that they should stay away from the church until all the problems related to the case are resolved, the church is said to have ordered.

The victim had recently lodged a police complaint and a petition before a local magistrate court for probe against Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairperson PJ Kurien alleging that he had raped her. However, the court had last week dismissed the girl's plea for investigation against Kurien.

The victim's plea was based on revelation by lone rape convict, advocate Dharamarajan of Idukki.

Catholic church's own news service, Union of Catholic Asian News, had recently described the victim as a "16-year-old Catholic schoolgirl" and Kurien as "a Kerala Christian and Congress party leader".

NEW DELHI: Three Rajiv Gandhi assassins have opposed the execution of the death sentence awarded to them by pointing to the 12 year-lag between the Supreme Court's confirmation of the high court's order to send them to the gallows and the rejection of the mercy petition by President. Behind this argument, it turns out, is a well-organized campaign by LTTE cadres, sympathizers and human rights groups opposed to death penalty who could well have been the reason for the delay in the first place.

The announcement of death penalty led to the European Union issuing a demarche to the Indian government. Rashtrapati Bhavan was bombarded with clemency pleas.

It was against such a backdrop that President K R Narayanan did not take up the clemency pleas in 1999.

Among the other petitioners who sought death penalty waiver were NGOs like Campaign against Death Penalty, Dravidians for Peace & Justice, South Africa chapter, South African Tamil Federation, The World Saivite Council, the South Indian Foundation and the Federation of Tamil Associations in France.

Others quoted Gladys Staines who forgave those who murdered her husband and children.

Among the political leaders who petitioned for the four were MDMK's Vaiko and SAD's Simranjit Singh Mann.
Rev Dr Arul Das James, Archbishop of Madras-Mylapore, and Baba Amte also supported clemency while the then minister of state for petroleum and natural gas E Ponnuswamy forwarded a plea as well. From the judiciary, V Krishna Iyer and Justice Hosbet Suresh also submitted pleas to Narayanan.

A case has been registered against a youth Congress leader and two others for allegedly kidnapping and raping an 18-year-old dalit girl in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh, the police said on Monday.

Islamization Of Bengal

With the Mughal conquest of Bengal beginning the last decades of the sixteenth century their local governors made frenetic efforts to settle land and expand agriculture. Large parts of East Bengal were nothing but thickly forested swamps in those days. People staying on the margins of society involved in boating, fishing etc who were loosely speaking Hindus but actually of no religion became part of this Mughal imperial design. They were settled on land and induced to farm and they were socially moored by small mosques led by spiritual preceptors who came into convert the locals to a new way of life. There was not much opposition because these were new areas but the local Hindu communities that existed reacted by closing their ranks and becoming more conservative. This had the result of expulsion of many Hindus from the fold on the grounds that they had been polluted by contacts with the Muslims.  These Hindus of course became Muslims. The net result was that more people started becoming Muslims.

Fatwa against Xtists in Kashmir

SRINAGAR: A self-styled Sharia court in Srinagar on Thursday issued a fatwa asking three Christian priests to leave Jammu & Kashmir for "luring the Valley's Muslims to Christianity". The fatwa also directed the state government to take over the management of Christian schools in J&K, besides monitoring church activities. The outrageous edict follows last November's arrest of pastor M C Khanna of All Saints Church in Srinagar.

According to Nasir-ul-Islam, deputy to grand Mufti Bashiruddin, four Christian priests are involved in luring Kashmiri Muslim youth to convert to Christianity. "Punjabi MC Khanna, Dutch national, Jim Borst, and Gayoor Messah were told to leave the Valley for their involvement in conversions. Case against the principal of Tyndale Biscoe School, Parvez Samuel Koul, is under investigation. A judgment will announced in due course," said Naib Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam. Besides the decree, Sharia court asked the government to involve itself with the management of missionary schools.

I'm tickled pink to imagine the reaction of Messrs. John Dayal and Cedric Prakash, et al - enablers, chroniclers and propagandists of Jihad terrorism in India as a whole. These fellows have fashioned a grand alliance between Mullah and Missionary, based on their fundamental unity of purpose, namely to destroy India's Hindu identity.

After filtering out the Jihad/ Sharia bellicosity reflected in the Fatwa, I do find myself in agreement with the wise
Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam - to the extent that Christist missionaries
are perpetrators of terror at a civilisational level whose activities need to be curbed urgently across the country, not just in Kashmir. Taking over the administration of Christist institutions is also a good idea.

These need to be nationalized by the government and the curriculum decided after thorough vetting by patriotic minded Indians. Binayak Sen gets Korean prize for Chrisist activism

The anti-national Christist terror mastermind has become something of a celebrity overnight for assorted seditionists. The brazenness of this thug is astounding. He made a sly declaration after his release that he "loved" his country and that "patriotism" needs to be redefined!!

The Union Law minister, Veerappa Oily also declared with alacrity that the entire legal framework pertinent to sedition needs re-evaluation, in light of the manipulated judicial verdict exonerating the poster boy of "CIVIL SOCIETY"!!!

The confidence of "Binayak" Sen, Susan "Arundhati" Roy et al is not surprising, given that the global church has thrown its weight behind them.

The christist neo-converts in South Korea have gleefully announced a prize for their agent in India. Read this note in the TOIlet paper carefully. The Korean prize was instituted in 2000, the year Christist Pope John Paul declared, on Indian soil - his intent to plant the cross in Asia and bring the continent under the church's dominion.

Binayak Sen gets Korean human prize for Christian activism

NEW DELHI: Civil rights activist Binayak Sen, recently freed on bail by the Supreme Court in a sedition case, has been honoured with the 2011 Gwangju Prize for Human Rights, South Korea's most prestigious award for those working on peace, democracy and justice in Asia.

The award was announced yesterday by 2011 Gwangju Prize Committee in Seoul.

The prize, which carries a sum of USD 50,000 is awarded each year on May 18 -- on the anniversary of the May 1980 Gwangju democratic uprising -- to a person or organisation who has made significant contributions in the field of human rights and democracy.

"Dr Sen, as an accomplished medical practitioner has distinguished himself by his devotion to providing health services for the poor and by his strong advocacy against human rights violations and structural violence inflicted on the poor," the award jury said in a statement on the website of May 18 Memorial Foundation.

"He has also been active in the People's Union for Civil Liberties documenting human rights violations occurring during the anti-Naxalite conflict," it said.

The jury this year received 32 nominations from countries all around Asia. Xanana Gusmao, the leader of the East Timore struggle for independence was the first awardee of the Gwangju Prize when it was launched in 2000, while Burmese pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi won it in 2004. Irom Sharmila, the Manipuri human rights activist, is the previous Indian winner of the Gwangju Prize.

European instigation of Christist terror in India

It is highly paradoxical to see European colonialists sermonising about the "neo-colonialism" of the State government of Chattisgarh, in its
dubious attempt to lionize and exonerate Binayak Sen, the chief ideologue and exponent of
Christian "liberation theology" in a "Maoist" Burka.

The Supreme Court's granting of bail to this seditious "human rights activist" was quite expected, given GOI's cognizance of the non-existent locus standi of European busy bodies in India's sovereign judicial process. The Indian judiciary, itself has been subverted - tempted to play to the gallery, namely foreign/ christist "observers".

This was evident in the Graham Stain case as well, where Dara Singh was unjustifiably awarded a harsh life imprisonment, coupled with gratuitous "civil society activism" that successfully amended portions of the judgement that were deemed critical to Christist aggression.

So, two prominent cases in recent times involving European/Christian "observers" and "civil society activism" that serve as a litmus test of the Indian state and judiciary's neutrality. The result in both cases - bail for Christist terror ideologue Binayak Sen & jail for
Hindu nationalist Dara Singh.

Here, the Supreme Court of India decries religious conversions by force, fraud and allurement - and in the same breath confirms life imprisonment for Dara Singh!!

Breathtaking logic and consistent with the Allahabad High court judgement that acknowledged the existence of a historical temple at Ayodhya, forcibly demolished by medieval Muslim invaders and supplanted by a mosque - simultaneously awarding 1/3 of the land to Mohammedans!!

Now, if a nationalist youth like Dara Singh saw it fit to take the law into his own hands, does he really deserve a harsh sentence such as life imprisonment?

What is the logic behind this sentence when the Supreme court and the Wadhwa commission of inquiry have both taken cognizance of Stain's socially disruptive terror activities?

Would the presence of Australian "observers" at the court of trial have anything to do with it? Or the frequent visits by
