Indian Cabinet Approves Entry of Foreign Schools

India's cabinet has approved the entry of foreign schools into the country to help it overcome difficulties in improving its education infrastructure.

Personally, I think it's a good thing.

It can be a good thing if it results in Indian students not going to hell holes like Australia & Britain. Foreign universities can help develop quality infrastructure. However, their curriculum needs to be monitored carefully, especially in non-technical disciplines. Such vetting is necessary to nip any christist madrasahs in the bud.
In fact, I would argue that foreign schools be allowed only in those areas that we are deficient in, ex: management etc.

I agree with Karyakarta...
It would be great if we have branches of great institutions in disciplines of engineering and management here too. But we should beware of marxist and x-ist madrassas taking root here.. like Oxford etc, which brainwash guillable Hindus to marxism or x-ism.
And also yes, as Incognito said, one needs to also monitor if they damage the Bharatiya samskriti in the long run.

Actually, the benefits from their entry is over-hyped.
Non-technical disciplines should not be allowed.

Since Jain and Sikh institutions qualify for minority status and are exempt from reservations, they should take the lead in establishing world-class Universities. Any Jains out there?

Beware of C-grade, fast-buck foreign varsities: Expert

".. many of them will be of low quality coming with an eye on making easy money"

Top global universities likely to stay away

.. global centres of excellence like Cambridge or Oxford are highly unlikely to set up their bases in the country in the near future.
