Why don't Hindu Americans stand up for Hindus (though they will for everybody else)?
what is it, self-hate, empty tolerance, cowardice? or propaganda by the nehruvian stalinist state that has been deeply internalized?

Quick notes: Clean Yamuna | Peak city...
- How River Yamuna Cleaned Itself: Two months of the lockdown have done what successive governments could not do in 25 years with over Rs 5,000 crore at their disposal.
- Punjab: Eco-friendly industries to be granted CTE/CTO within a day
- Remote work: Will a cloud-based rural revival be jump-started by today's remote work surge? . . . . . Have we passed peak city?
- Sita Ram Goel on Mahatma Gandhi: What is relevant in Mahatma Gandhi is not his failure in solving the Muslim problem but his success in re-affirming the language of Sanatana Dharma which had been revived during the Swadeshi Movement.
The anti-Gandhi nationalists have never tried honestly to face the fact that it was he and not they who had stirred the minds and hearts of Hindu masses. It was he and not they who had mobilized Hindu society to make sacrifices in the service of the motherland. Nor have the denunciations of anti-Gandhi nationalists succeeded in doing the slightest damage to his stature.
In fact, his stature has risen higher with the passing of time. He continues to be cherished by Hindu masses as one of the greatest in their history. Reverence for him in the world at large has also continued to grow. He is now regarded as a profound thinker on problems created by an industrial civilisation and a hedonistic culture. Hinduism has gained abroad because Gandhi is known as a great Hindu. - Demographic jihad: Huge growth in funding for pro-migration NGOs
- Billionaires gain, workers feel pandemic pain: America’s Billionaire’s see net worth jump $434B in first two months of pandemic.

Quick notes: Sweatshop nation | Tibetan border...
- Sweatshop Nation: Governments in BJP-ruled states pushing for 12-hour shifts. Businesses may reduce from three shifts-a-day to two. . . . . . . . These kind of laws were brought in by Vasundhara Raje's govt in 2014. Six years later, business in Rajasthan has not picked up and employment has not grown. . . . . . . . . .Economic revival through labor exploitation?
- Is BJP facilitating transfer of wealth from distressed farmers? Restrictions on purchase of farm agricultural land being removed. . . . . . Environment ministry in overdrive to clear projects.
- Beijing opening new fronts: China's aggressive moves in Ladakh and Northern Sikkim do not augur well for the coming summer months. The new Chinese-made ZTQ-15 light tank could be a game changer. The Nepal Communist Party is dictated to by Beijing about what to do or say..
- The Coming Disruption: The strongest brand in the world is not Apple or Mercedes-Benz or Coca-Cola. The strongest brands are MIT, Oxford and Stanford. . . A handful of elite cyborg universities will soon monopolize higher education.
- No harmful chemicals: Electrolyzed water uses electricity to change the chemical structure of salt, water and vinegar into a cleaner disinfectant as effective as bleach.
- On mythology: Nothing to be offended
Memo to those cheering the UP labour laws removal "to attract companies fleeing China".— राहुल गोस्वामी (@rahul_goa) May 8, 2020
UP needs agri labour more than any state. It grows 19% of our total foodgrain (32% of wheat).
Entire Ganga basin needs to shift to organic crop production - that has a future beyond 3 years.
On Modi's watch, China's trade surplus with India has more than doubled. India's stringent lockdown, by crippling the economy, has further boosted Chinese exports. Quick notes: Higher education | Green mobility
- Fundamental shift in higher education: The second-greatest accretion of stakeholder value in business, behind Amazon’s entry into health care, will be big (and some small) tech firms partnering with a world class university to offer 80% of a traditional four-year degree for 50% of the price.
The myth/magic of campuses and geography is no longer a constraining factor — most programs will be hybrid soon, dramatically increasing enrollments among the best brands. MIT/Google could enroll 100,000 kids at $100,000 in tuition (a bargain), yielding $5 billion a year. Bocconi/Apple, Carnegie Mellon/Amazon, UCLA/Netflix, Berkeley/Microsoft … you get the idea - Blended learning: “Education is going to be online, offline.... a mix of both... it is going to be blended learning and it is going to stay.”
- Reduce viral load with nasal rinsing and gargling with saline water: "Like hand wash, nose and throat wash may also remove or reduce viral load.
- Ultraviolet Sanitiser: DRDO lab develops device to sanitise electronic gadgets, papers
- Green mobility: Peaking interest on the humble two-wheeled bicycle has come as a pleasant surprise. “Under the National Disaster Management Act, the Centre has been issuing guidelines for the use of different vehicles. But there is no mention of bicycles or its benefits”. . . “The real cost of motorised transport hasn’t been calculated, though it is threatening the health of a large population. The govt should start campaigning for bicycles at all levels for a fit India”.

Quick notes: "Edible" insects | TB vaccine...
- More pandemics: The EU will soon permit the sale of locusts, crickets, grasshoppers, and mealworms as food across the continent.
- TB Vaccine: Countries with universal BCG vaccine programmes have much lower mortality rates from Covid-19. "We have known for decades that BCG has non-specific beneficial effects, in that it protects against diseases other than the one for which it was created". . . 'Use BCG vaccine immediately'.
- Beggar-thy-neighbor: Aussie hospitals grapple with shortages after Chinese-owned companies there emptied vital medical supplies and exported them to China.
- Leftist media parroting CCP propaganda:
- CCP Propaganda: China floods Facebook with ads blaming Trump for c-virus. State news outlets have bought numerous ads extolling China's response to the pandemic and attacking the mistakes of the US
- In the Vedic church none is religiously great or small: Yajurveda 26-2 clearly enjoins all learned persons to preach the Vedic truths to all, the Brahmanas, the Kshatriyas, the Vaishyas, the Shudras, the Chandalas, the degraded and the forlorn. Dwijas, the twice-born alone are not entitled to study the Vedas. The shudras and even women are equally entitled to read the Vedas. Persons like Kavish Aylush a Shudra by birth, vide Aitareya Brahmana 11-19 and women like Lopa Mudra were the seers of the meanings of Vedic texts and their names are from times immemorial attached to the Vedic verses. In the eyes of God all men, high or low, are equally entitled to God's gifts and bounties, say air, water, sunshine and His Knowledge.

- Wikipedia or Trashpedia? Since Vedic wisdom and Yoga are much the fashion across the world these days, racists and Eurocentrists must show that these were brought from Europe by migrants who then occupied India.. Quick Notes: Gopuram institute | Japan bound...
- Gopuram Institute of Vedic Culture: Vojko Kercan from Slovenia
- Walking the talk: Graying Japan, with its declining birth rates, has signalled its intention to let in over 5 lakh skilled foreign workers by 2025, and Indians are lining up. "Learning Japanese grammar was easy as it is pretty similar to Tamil grammar".
- How India Can Defeat China in Conflict: “By attempting to defend the entire border, India will effectively defend none of the border.” India options include more investment in offensive cyberwarfare, long-range precision weapons, hypersonic anti-ship missiles, maritime surveillance and anti-satellite technology. Rather than expensive surface ships like aircraft carriers, India should focus on submarines.
- World-beating skills: Reliance is India's answer to Exxon, AT&T, Amazon, all rolled into one. "What has impressed most is the strategic vision and execution ability of Reliance management to enter and 'win' in areas outside of core business."
- India's Chip Manufacturing Dilemma: India is spending more on electronic imports than on oil. The first semiconductor manufacturing unit can cost $14.7 Billion (100B INR). No Indian company can take this risk. And MNCs are unwilling to invest due to poor infrastructure and skills.
- Sexual-grooming Jihad: Wahid used to befriend several high school and Plus-Two girls on ShareChat, where he also met the victim.

Quick notes: Best CEOs, Data localization...
- The Best-Performing CEOs, 2018: For the second year in a row, the best-performing CEOs in the world were more likely to have an engineering degree than an MBA. Yet another reason to consider urging your kids to go into engineering.
- US wants to "prohibit" data localization: Major American IT companies are up in arms against the latest Indian directive.
- Sabarimala: Deities & Judges
- Early Time Restricted Feeding (eTRF): Merely restricting the number of hours you ate and moving to an earlier eating schedule, produced huge benefits even in the same person eating the same meals. Mean insulin levels dropped significantly, and insulin resistance dropped as well. Even more remarkable was that even after the washout period of seven weeks, the eTRF group maintained lower insulin levels at baseline. The benefits were maintained even after stopping the time restriction. Blood pressure dropped as well.

Great Spirit,
Give us hearts to understand
Never to take from creation's beauty more than we give,
Never to destroy want only for the furtherance of greed,
Never to deny to give our hands for the building of earth's beauty,
Never to take from her what we cannot use.
Give us hearts to understand
That to destroy earth's music is to create confusion,
That to wreck her appearance is to blind us to beauty,
That to callously pollute her fragrance is to make a house of stench,
That as we care for her she will care for us.
Give us hearts to understand
We have forgotten who we are.
We have sought only our own security.
We have exploited simply for our own ends.
We have distorted our knowledge.
We have abused our power.
Great Spirit,
Whose dry lands thirst,
Help us to find the way to refresh your lands.
Great Spirit, Whose waters are choked with debris and pollution,
Help us to find the way to cleanse your waters.
Great Spirit,
Whose beautiful earth grows ugly with misuse,
Help us to find the way to restore beauty to your handiwork.
Great Spirit,
Whose creatures are being destroyed,
Help us to find a way to replenish them
Great Spirit, whose gifts to us are being lost in selfishness and corruption,
Help us to find the way to restore our humanity.

Quick notes: Peaceful fall, Helicopter UAV...
- After peaceful rise, can China fall peacefully? China’s growth will decline sharply in the coming decade, from 7.7% to 3.9%. (To put these numbers in perspective, China grew at an average annual rate of 10.2% from 1980 to 2011.)

- Poor quality panels spoil our solar party: Today, around 90% of solar panels used in India are imported from countries such as China and Malaysia since they’re cheaper than the locally-made ones that India is pushing for now. Quick notes: Chinese imports, Beef in cereal...
- Imports of electronics and IT products from China: "Many of the devices transmit, or store, data back into Chinese servers, which could pose a security risk. Also, online transactions using many of these devices and platforms can be tracked back to Chinese servers, which can create security issues for the country".
- Sigh!: India’s exports to China include iron ore, cotton yarn, petroleum products, copper and chemicals, while imports include telecom instruments, electronic components, computer hardware, industrial machinery and chemicals.
- Hindus offended: Gelatin derived from beef is used in a variety of Kellogg cereal products.
- White Jesus: Too many Christian pastors are silent on Charlottesville violence
- Sikhs in America: For more than a century, Sikhs in the U.S. have faced hate and violence.
- On Hinduism:
Hinduism gave itself no name, because it set itself no sectarian limits; it claimed no universal adhesion, asserted no sole infallible dogma, set up no single narrow path or gate of salvation; it was less a creed or cult than a continuously enlarging tradition of the God ward endeavor of the human spirit. An immense many-sided and many staged provision for a spiritual self-building and self-finding, it had some right to speak of itself by the only name it knew, the eternal religion, Santana Dharma.
Now just here is the first baffling difficulty over which the European mind stumbles; for it finds itself unable to make out what Hindu religion is.... How can there be a religion which has no rigid dogmas demanding belief on pain of eternal damnation, no theological postulates, even no fixed theology, no credo, distinguishing it from antagonistic or rival religions? How can there be a religion which has no papal head, no governing ecclesiastic body, no church, chapel or congregational system, no binding religious form of any kind obligatory on all its adherents, no one administration and discipline? For the Hindu priests are mere ceremonial officiants without any ecclesiastical authority or disciplinary powers and the Pundits are mere interpreters of the Shastra, not the law-givers of the religion or its rulers.
How again can Hinduism be called a religion when it admits all beliefs, allowing even a kind of high-reaching atheism and agnosticism and permits all possible spiritual experiences, all kinds of religious adventures? -- Sri Aurobindo, India's Rebirth

Quick notes: Bad loans, Solar-powered coaches...
- Bad-loans crisis: Even the best-case scenario for Indian banks is pretty awful. To recover over Rs4 lakh crore from the top 50 companies that haven’t been able to repay their debts, banks may have to take a haircut of as much as 60%, resulting in a loss of about Rs2.4 lakh crore.
- Solar-powered coaches: A train with six solar-powered coaches could save around 21,000 litres of diesel every year, worth around Rs12 lakh.
- Coming soon to India: Electric buses that can swap batteries at petrol pump-like facilities. Swappable batteries could be the potential game changer in India.
- East Coast Greenway: The biggest infrastructure project in the US is a 3,000-mile bike path
- Goa is phoren: No beef shortage in Goa, assures Manohar Parrikar.
- Religious contributions: Christian, Muslim households top in donations for charity
- Francois Gautier: Ten Things a Hindu Can Do While Using English Language
1. Please stop using the word "God fearing" - Hindus never ever fear God. For us, God is everywhere and we are also integral part of God. God is not a separate entity to fear.
2. Please do not use the meaningless term "RIP" when someone dies. Use "Om Shanti", "Sadgati" or "I wish this atma attains moksha". Hinduism neither has the concept of "soul" nor its "resting". The terms "Atma" and "Jeeva" are, in a way, antonyms for the word "soul".
3. Please don't use the word "Mythology" for our historic epics (Itihas) Ramayana and Mahabharata. Rama and Krishna are historical heroes, not just mythical characters.
3. Please don't be apologetic about idol worship and say “Oh, that's just symbolic". All religions have idolatry in kinds or forms - cross, words, letters (calligraphy) or direction. Also let's stop using the words the words 'idols', 'statues' or 'images' when we refer to the sculptures of our Gods. Use the terms 'Moorthi' or 'Vigraha'. If words like Karma, Yoga, Guru and Mantra can be in the mainstream, why not Moorthi or Vigraha?
4. Please don't refer to Ganesh and Hanuman as "Elephant god" and "Monkey god" respectively. You can simply write Shree Ganesh and Shree Hanuman.
5. Please don't refer to our temples as prayer halls. Temples are "devalaya" (abode of god) and not "prathanalaya" (Prayer halls).
6. Please don't wish your children "black birthday" by letting them to blow off the candles that kept at the top of the birth day cake. Don't throw spit on the divine fire (Agni Deva). Instead, ask them to pray: "Oh divine fire, lead me from darkness to light" (Thamasoma Jyotirgamaya) by lighting a lamp. These are all strong images that go to deep psyche.
7. Please avoid using the words "spirituality" and "materialistic". For a Hindu, everything is divine. The words spirituality and materialism came to India through evangelists and Europeans who had a concept of Church vs State. Or Science vs Religion. On the contrary, in India, Sages were scientists and the foundation stone of Sanatan Dharma was Science.
9. Please don't use the word "Sin" instead of "Paapa". We only have Dharma (duty, righteousness, responsibility and privilege) and Adharma (when dharma is not followed). Dharma has nothing to do with social or religious morality. 'Papa' derives from Adharma.
10. Please don't use loose translation like meditation for "dhyana" and 'breathing exercise' for "Pranayama". It conveys wrong meanings. Use the original words. Remember, the world respects only those who respect themselves! Please circulate so that people can understand about their Hindu Dharma....

The Cradle of Civilization
This is a long story that started in 1835 when a politician called Thomas Macauley pleaded in the British Parliament to replace the Sanskrit gurukuls in India with English education. He argued that if Britain wants to successfully subdue Indians, they need to be cut off from their culture.
Macauley got his way. From then on, the Indian elite had to send their children to English medium schools, if they wanted them to make it in life. Naturally, the kids didn’t hear much about their own great culture and whatever little they heard, was negative.
It suited the colonial masters to have “educated natives” who held them and their lifestyle, including their religion, in high esteem. In return, they, especially those who had converted to the western religions, were allowed to feel superior to the ‘superstitious Indian masses’.
This is not a healthy state of affairs, but it plays out often on Indian news channels: Macauley’s children (or should I call them ‘anti-Hindu brigade’?) accuse and insinuate about Hinduism what the British convent schools had taught them. Missionaries have always maligned Hinduism, but in the recent decades, a new, dangerous insinuation is noisily propagated. Christian leaders support it and the international media eagerly picks it up.
Hindus (other Indian traditions included) are by far the most tolerant people on earth. There is no other country, where minority Christians, Jews and Muslims are as safe as in India. And yet there seems to be a coordinated effort by Indians and westerners, which is gleefully supported by the media, to paint Hindus as hateful of other religions. The point is that the anti-Hindu brigade is not interested in the truth. They want that ‘Hinduism’ evokes disgust. What could be the reason?
While Christianity and Islam indeed have a terrible historical record, Indian traditions do not. There were many different ways of worship in India yet all lived peacefully together – till the dogmatic religions, Islam and Christianity, arrived on the scene, and Hindus became their victims.
"For me, who grew up as a Christian, Christianity is no equal to the Indian tradition." - Maria Wirth
