i found narayanan komerath's comments on AID in the time of the tsunami quite illuminating. not to mention the high-overhead SINGH foundation and other somewhat dubious 'charities'. i get the feeling that the SINGH foundation, Sabrang, Communalism Combat, SAHMAT, Awaaz, and all these other virtuous entities are very coy about publishing their financial statements. has anybody seen these?
for that matter, and this is not a rhetorical question, i really do not know the answer, does anybody have the detailed financial statements of AID and ASHA? what are their overhead ratios? there is a charity watchdog that rates various so-called charities in the US based on their effectiveness, ie. amounts delivered to end users/amounts raised. does anybody know how AID and ASHA fare in this?

AID has got 4 start ratings from Charity Navigaor. That DOES NOT mean that they havent spent money on communist activities. Obviously the money spent on buying books on Marx and Lenin will be shown as money spent on charity. BTW, how is it that Tamil Nadu "science forum" gets these cartoon books for propagating Marxist ideas?
