the end of the gulf boom spells big trouble for kerala

there are 20 lakh total kerala people in the persian gulf
according to NORKA, 14.63 lakh have returned
2.90 lakh because their visas expired
10.45 lakh because they lost their jobs.

96% of those who returned were from uae, qatar, saudi, oman.

Well , the end of boom would not be the end of the gulf economy per se. Considering the reform orientation in which the leader of the ummah/ulema(please do say the right word to use), Saudi Arabia , in the direction set by the UAE , and the fact that UAE has stopped issuing visas to the Pakistanis , I am fairly sure that the leaders of the countries have realized that the current Economics of the systems they run are not feasible. Hence there is a drive . Because Pakistan is a pariah , they have simply said no Pakistanis. But that cant be the way with India . Hence , this pattern of eliminating lower sections of workers who fall under the category of unskilled labor. Most of Malayali labor is unskilled. So they are being denied visa. This is my understanding of the impending changes . Let the reality unfold to vindicate.
