GM cereal crops created to grow in salty water

well, this is good. another thing pakistan and bangladesh can do is reduce their production of babies from what is it, 5.1 per woman? then they will need less food production.

good as it sounds - I am not fully for this GM engineering of plants. they tend to play havoc with general bio-diversity in the area. they are hardy crops - but suck the nutrients of from other plants and eventually kill off other things we really need.

I would be happier if India simply focussed on check-dams and organic farming. but that is unlikely - the perverse fertiliser subsidy remains
