Sarah Palin - Who?

That may be your reaction as it was mine - but the truth is that the giant sucking sound you hear is Barrack Hussein's campaign flushing down the toilet

Palin is a good pick because
  1. Her inexperience cannot be criticized - because if Barrack Hussein does that, his own inexperience shows up all the more
  2. The Bubba's will love her Christo-nut, anti-abortion ways. I am not a Christist fan - but I will take their votes if it means beating Barrack Hussein
  3. She will clean-up Hillary voters who feel cheated by the Obama campaign. I cannot over-emphasize this enough - swing states like Ohio and Pennsylvania have two key voter categories - white males (who were always with McCain) and single / soccer moms - who will now gravitate to Palin.
The risk is that she may bomb and end-up being a second Dan Quayle, which will sink McCain.

Does not matter to India - Republicans and Democrats are both cut from the same cloth for India. It's just I do not want to see that fake Barrack Hussein win

a fairly good parody of barack obama

personally can't stand the blighter. he's a demagogue, a pied piper, and he's still quite likely a manchurian candidate for the saudis and the chinese.

now for some comic relief: RoP loves RoL (except when they're killing each other, of course)

these are the blighters who said "10,000" mohammedans were killed in gujarat.

they may be innumerate, but they certainly know that they are with their semitic brethren.

IMC-USA expresses alarm at anti-Christian violence in Orissa; demands the State and Central governments to act immediately

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
28 August 2008

Indian Muslim Council-USA (IMC-USA), an advocacy group working toward safeguarding India's pluralist and tolerant ethos, denounces in the strongest terms, the ongoing massacre of Christians and the killing of the Hindutva leader in the Indian state of Orissa.

According to news reports, dozens of Christians have been killed, hundreds injured and many torched alive by mercenaries belonging to Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Bajrang Dal and other Hindu supremacist groups. Reports from the ground also indicate that hundreds of churches have been destroyed and thousands of Christians had to flee into the jungle to avoid massacre.

"This is nothing but a repeat of the 2002 Gujarat carnage, only this time the target is the Christian minority" said IMC-USA President Mr. Rasheed Ahmed, commenting on the violence. "If the state government, which is in alliance with the BJP, cannot maintain law and order and save the lives and property of its citizens, the Central government should impose president's rule and send the armed forces to stop the pogroms." he further added.

The latest violence against the Christians started after the killing of VHP leader Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati and four others by suspected Maoists. Rasheed Ahmed, deplored the incident saying: "Killing is a heinous crime irrespective of who the victim or perpetrator is". Laxmanananda Saraswati was at the forefront of anti-Christian campaigns and was reported to be behind the widespread destruction of properties during the 'Black Christmas' in 2007.

Orchestrated pogroms against religious minorities by Hindu nationalist groups have become a regular feature of Indian politics in recent years. Often these pogroms occur in Hindu nationalist (BJP) ruled states which extend police protection and impunity to the rampaging Hindutva activists perpetrating the violence.

Indian Muslim Council-USA is the largest advocacy organization of Indian Muslims in the United States with 10 chapters across the nation.

Maoists deny role in VHP leader’s murder in Orissa

aug 29th, 2008

yeah, and when n ram publishes it, you know it's coming straight from china and the horse's mouth. so it must be true. but why he's willing to publish something that is against christist interests i am not sure. after all, he has a keralachristist wife.

i guess he figured that it's more important to save chinese ass than christist ass. the fellow knows his priorities: if chinese get pissed off, he gets no money; if his wife is pissed off, well, he doesn't miss much, especially at his age.

I had looked upon your blog for the first time, as an avid student and explorer of both South Asian, i.e. Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh, Jainist cultures and of Islamic cultures in addition.  A lot of it comes from my interest as a zionist supporter of israel, (my paternal grandparents were holocaust survivors and contributed to my strong jewish heritage), and subsequent interest to learn about the clashing cultures in the middle east and nearby areas that affect it.  I noticed your blog had numerous stories and articles comparing the situation and advancement of religious groups in India and was interested in additional perspective.

I noticed you said that in all areas of India where muslims are the majority,  living standards are subpar and the people are backward.  Is that a recent phenomenon or has it always been that way ever since muslims were in India at all?  Would you say it's gotten better of worse as the years progressed?

And perhaps more importantly, is there still some degree of inter religious harmony and peace left in places like Hyderabad where muslim populations are significant?  Are muslims in Hyderabad mostly willing to cooperate with police and authority figures and make sacrifices when necessary to provide security for Hindu neighbors?  And do muslim separatist groups in Hyderabad like Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, the Hyderabad equivalent of Kashmir jiahdists, still hold sway over Muslims in both the Old and New City?

It's especially odd since at least in modern India there was a tradition of muslims becoming intellectually and culturally advanced in many of the modern day cities.  I mean, in Bijapur, for instance, the rulers for many years were the Adil Shah monarchs who though were aggressive expansionists were also enthusiastic patrons of higher culture and interreligous harmony.  Same for Hyderabad, which was founded by Mohammad Quli Qutb Shah, from the Qutb Shah dynasty.  he and his successors were known for being great artists and poets who treated Hindus and Muslims as equals, (not as dhimmis or 2nd class citizens) and encouraged artistic achievement to flourish in Hyderabad.  It seems today the legacy of intellectual figures among India's muslims is gone replaced by fundamentalism and absence of any culture outside of islam.

And of course Jammu and Kashmir, now hopelessly lost to jihadis, was once ruled by open-minded and culturally advanced rulers as well.  But any legacy in Kashmir other than violent jihad and cleansing of hindus is clearly gone forever.

Maybe it's the legacy of rulers of these cities in most recent times, like the Nizam SHahs of Hyderabad in the 1700s, who stopped this cultural and civilizational advancement of muslims in India.  Maybe it's due to Middle Eastern influence like Saudi and Egyptian funded mosques leading to a revival of religious nationalism.

Or maybe it's not as severe as it seems; maybe there are large numbers of muslims who are working for modernization, increased prosperity and religious acceptance.  I know in Hyderabad, for example, 30 percent of Muslims live in the New City and they have much more in common with Hindus there than with groups like Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen.  The same for Bijapur, Delhi, Bombay and other cities.

What would you say about the religious and cultural clashes in India?  Is there reason to be optimistic or not really?

Photos of Swamijee murder

aug 29th, 2008

since no newspaper will publish the photos of the swamiji -- in case that would make him appear like a human being worthy of human rights (of course they never published photos of the 59 murdered in godhra, either, but had tons of space to print pictures of that terrorist mohammedan girl ishrat jehan) -- here they are. along with some news reports.

PRESS RELEASE

$1 Million Endowment at UMass Dartmouth to Leverage Super Accelerated
Learning Techniques from Vedic Traditions for 21st Century Education

On Friday, August 15, as Indian students and community celebrated
India's independence day UMass Dartmouth announced that the Three Rs
Foundation has pledged $1 million to support the university's Center
for Indic Studies to initiate an innovative educational pedagogy
rooted in India's Vedic traditions. The donation will support the
Center's mission to connect the university, region and Commonwealth to
India's growing economy and world influence.

The announcement made with a celebration of India Independence Day
and featured presentations by students from India, and a guest speech
from Dr. Subramanian Swamy, visiting Harvard Professor and President
of Janata Party in India. "Our university, our students, and our
region are enriched by experiencing diverse cultures,'' Chancellor
MacCormack said. "The history, art, music and religion of India hold
important lessons for all of us as we strive to be better citizens of
our own community and the world. On behalf of UMass Dartmouth, I thank
the Three Rs Foundation for its exemplary generosity." Pandit
Ramadheen Ramsamooj, Director of Three Rs Foundation, said, "We are
excited to be part of this educational initiative that will allow
UMass Dartmouth students to learn about India at a time when the
information super highway and global economy are creating important
East-West connections. Among our highest priorities is to develop
innovative teaching strategies, rooted in Indian culture." The Three
Rs Foundation is the lead sponsor of the Super Accelerated Learning
Theory (SALT), a school model that emphasizes whole brain education.
Preceding the announcement, the Board of Governors of the Center for
Indic Studies unanimously approved the Memorandum of Understanding
with Three Rs Foundation.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Center, Mr. Rajiv
Malhotra, said that the accelerated learning movements across USA
regard Georgi Lozanov, a Bulgarian educator and neuroscientist, as
their founding father. What is seldom considered is that Lozanov had
studied traditional Vedic learning systems in India in the 1960s under
UNESCO programs, to figure out how Vedic pandits were able to memorize
and impeccably recite tens of thousands of verses. Malhotra said,
"Today, the Three R's Foundation is reviving that learning system
from its source, and creating a program which could be a breakthrough
even beyond Lozanov's. This deserves all our encouragement and
support."

Mr. Braham Agarwal from Orlando, Fl, the General Secretary of Indic
Governing Board agreed saying, "this is a good beginning for the
Center." The Center for Indic Studies is planning several major
academic and scholarly initiatives in the coming years. In its Board
of Governors meeting, Dr. William Hogan suggested including graduate
education as part of the Three Rs Foundation's agenda in Indic
Studies. He agreed with the Board Chairman's suggestion to
distinguish Indic Studies from South Asian Studies, the latter being
adopted by many US universities for general area study that handicaps
them from getting into deeper understanding of Indic traditions and
values.

"An endowment of this size to bridge ancient civilization of India to
the most modern civilization of United States through education is a
most powerful statement to society,'' said Dr. Bal Ram Singh, director
of the Center of Indic Studies. "I am thrilled at this opportunity and
look forward to facilitating the engagement of my colleagues in this
educational mission."

With more than one billion people, India represents over 15 percent
of the world's population. Only China has a larger population. India's
median age is 25, one of the youngest among large economies. India and
the United States are the two largest democracies in the world. With
an average GDP growth of 7 percent over the last decade, India is one
of the fastest growing economies in the world. It is leveraging its
large number of well-educated and English-speaking people to become a
major exporter of software services and software workers. According
the U.S. Census Bureau India also now ranks 4th in Massachusetts as a
nation of origin of foreign born residents in 2006 with 40,000
residents of Massachusetts. In 2000, India ranked 9th, and in 1990 did
not rank in the top 10. India is the top country of origin for
international students on the UMass Dartmouth campus. This fall there
will be approximately 150 students from India on the campus.

The Center for Indic Studies was established in 2001 to disseminate
understanding of issues relating to the arts, philosophy, culture,
societal values, and customs of India. For more information, visit

Massachusetts. Established in 1895 and located on its current site
since 1964, the university offers more than 60 undergraduate,
master's, and doctoral degree programs to 9,000 students. Its $21
million per year research enterprise is widely recognized for its
contributions to marine science, engineering, biotechnology, public
policy, education, business and management, nursing and social
science. The campus is also highly respected for its community
engagements, including a downtown arts campus in nearby New Bedford,
advanced technology center in Fall River and student community service
initiatives. For more information, visit www.umassd.edu

Fwd: Infallible doctrines

The incident again brought shame to the state."

Infallible doctrine 1 - Pagan Swami murdered with four other Pagans - probably an incident

"Nine years ago, Australian missionary Graham Staines and his two young sons were burnt alive by a Hindu mob in Keonjhar district."

Infallible doctrine 2 - Indian Tribals are all "non-Hindu animists" when being baptised as Christians.  If they misbehave (see above), why, in that case they may be christened afresh as Hindus.

The agitation in Jammu over revocation of the allotment of land to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board has taken an unprecedented turn. The only similar mass upsurge was during the Praja Parishad movement in 1952 to end the two dual constitutional provisions (thanks to Article 370) in Jammu and Kashmir that allowed two flags, a separate head of the state and separate laws.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has been supporting the agitation and the Congress's local leaders too have expressed their support for fear of losing Hindu votes. The agitation has seen small children with their mothers and grandmothers coming out on the roads with the tricolour in their hands and demanding that the land be given back to the SASB.

Leela Karan Sharma, 68, a senior advocate of the Jammu and Kashmir high court for 41 years, has been active in every Hindu religious organisation including the Dogra Brahmin Pratinidhi Sabha as its vice-president. He emerged on the national stage as president of the Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti, which is leading the mass movement in Jammu for the last two months. His day begins at 6 in the morning and ends past midnight.

Hindustan Times: Conversions at the root of carnage in Orissa

aug 27th, 2008

From: sri venkat

This is refreshing, coming from a mainstream newspaper. It also
reflects that majority Indians are well aware of the harm that
Christian missionaries are causing to Indian society.

We certainly do not wish to be enslaved, impoverished, decimated and
pushed to the margins like the natives of America, the aborigines of
Australia, maoris of South America. Wherever Christianity has went, it
has trampled local beliefs and people.  The only solution is mass,
aggressive, fraudulent conversions have to be banned in India.

Conversions at the root of carnage

Soumyajit Pattnaik, Hindustan Times
Bhubaneswar, August 27, 2008

The growing chasm between the Church and the Sangh Parivar is one of
the factors instrumental in igniting communal flare-ups in Orissa.
Religious conversions apart, job reservations for Scheduled Castes who
embrace Christianity (which is forbidden under the law) and domination
over rural businesses has fuelled the tension.

People in several areas of the state have been embracing Christianity
since the days of the British rule. But conversion was not considered
a problem till counter-movements began either to stop them or to
re-convert Christians to Hinduism.

In 1966, Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati moved to Chakapada in Kandhamal
district and started his anti-conversion campaign and a year later,
the government enacted the Orissa Freedom of Religion Act (OFRA) to
attach several conditions to provide legal sanctions to certain
conversions and declare others illegal.

The Sangh Parivar's main grouse is that the Church and missionaries
are doing "illegal conversions" by violating the OFRA. Church leaders
have, however, denied this saying people have voluntarily embraced
Christianity without inducements. SCs who convert to Christianity
cannot enjoy job reservations, but in the recent past Pana (SC)
Christians, especially in Kandhamal district, were trying to get ST
status so they can continue to get quota benefits.

Reason: Unlike SC Christians, converted tribals enjoy quota benefits.

Subas Chavan, national co-convenor of the Bajrang Dal told HT:
"Several SC Christians are falsely identifying themselves as Hindu SCs
and getting job reservation benefits. They are preventing Hindu SCs
from getting jobs."

Do not tame the poisonous snakes in Kashmir

By Tanveer Jafri

In India there is an attempt to create communal based division as it was in 1947, in Jammu & Kashmir state, again. If we give an ear to the persons having separatist thoughts, the condition is worse than 1947. It was hoped that the flame of separatist thought will rise high one day. All the governments may be of Jammu & Kashmir or United Progressive Alliance (UPA) of the centre or previous National democratic alliance (NDA) or the congress governments in centre have been taming the separatist's leaders under the pretest of discussion for the last 20 years. It is misfortunate that the separatist leaders have talked of freedom of Kashmir just for a trifle that is a piece of land to be given to Amarnath shrine board. To talk of economic blockade of Kashmir valley is simply a pretest. If we talk of the sale of apples of the apple producer of valley, the goods can be sent to the other parts of India by air routs. Home minister of India, Shiv Raj Patil has requested to Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir police and to the other institutions like schools of Jammu & Kashmir to purchase these apples. But as the separatist leaders have talked about the economic blockade and incited the Kashmiri people to move towards Muzzfarabad in Pak occupied Kashmir, it has become obvious that the separatist leaders of the valley want separation of Kashmir from India and nothing else.

Now the question arises that how far a handful of separatist leader will go on misguiding the Kashmir people in the name of religion? Will the government of India be cheated for the article 370 even in future in J&K? These few peoples who play drama of Kashmirism and Kashmir culture when lakhs of Kashmir natives had to leave Kashmir valley? They had to leave their hereditary houses and at present are spending their lives as homeless people in other parts of India? The crowd that is being incited by the border today should look at the events of the other sides of the border. They must look at the internal circumstances of the countries such as Pakistan and Bangladesh that had come into existence on the basis of religion. They should specially have the look at the circumstances of Pakistan towards which they wants to move.

The Truth Behind Holy Amarnath

The Land of KASHMIR
Nilamata Purana: Ka means "water" and Shimir means "to desiccate". Hence, Kashmir stands for "a land desiccated from water".

The Nilamata Purana gives the name Kashmira to the Valley considering it to be an embodiment of Uma.

In the Rajatarangini, a history of Kashmir written by Kalhana in the 12th century, it is stated that the valley of Kashmir was formerly a lake. This was drained by the great rishi or sage, Kashyapa, by cutting the gap in the hills at Baramulla (Varaha-mula). When Kashmir had been drained, Kashyapa asked Brahmans to settle there.

The name of Kashyapa is by history and tradition connected with the draining of the lake, and the chief town or collection of dwellings in the valley was called Kashyapa-pura.

The Amarnath Fact Sheet
The biggest lie being circulated - Amarnath was discovered by Malik's – The Muslim Shepherd Family.

The shrine is cover 5,000 years old and forms an important part of ancient Hindu mythology

The reference to Amarnath can be seen in the Nilamata Purana (v.1324).

The pilgrimage to the holy cave has been described with full topographical details in the Bhringish Samhita and the Amarnatha Mahatmya, both ancient texts said to have been composed even earlier.

References to Amarnath, known have also been made in historical chronicles like the Rajatarangini.

Several Western travellers' accounts also leave no doubt about the fact that the holy cave has been known to people for centuries

"The lake of dazzling whiteness [resembling] a sea of milk (Sheshnag), which he created [for himself as residence] on a far off mountain, is to the present day seen by the people on the pilgrimage to Amareshwara."(Rajatarangini, Book I v. 267.Translation: M. A. Stein).

Rajatarangini (Book II v. 138): Kalhana says that King Samdhimat Aryaraja (34 BCE-17CE) used to spend "the most delightful Kashmir summer" in worshiping a linga formed of snow "in the regions above the forests".

Chronicle of Kashmir, a sequel to Kalhana's Rajatarangini, Jonaraja relates that that Sultan Zainu'l-abidin (1420-1470) paid a visit to the sacred tirtha of Amarnath while constructing a canal on the left bank of the river Lidder (vv.1232-1234).

The great Sikh Guru Arjan Dev granted land in Amritsar for the ceremonial departure of Chari, the holy mace of Lord Shiva which marks the beginning of the Yatra to the Holy Cave

The Land in Question
The shrine and the yatra is maintained and organized by Shri Amarnath Shrine Board

Shrine Board was constituted by an Act of the State Legislature in 2000

On board request , the J&K Government  transferred nearly 40 hectares of forest land in Baltal area to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board on lease for Rs. 23.1 million (Rs.2.3 crore)

The transfer was approved by the  government of Jammu & Kashmir and signed by the cabinet

CONTROVERSY

The land was required to create temporary structure to provide facilities to the pilgrims

The structures were to be in place only for two months every year

The area is prone to rain, snow, landslide and extreme bad weather

There was no ecological damage or tree cutting planned

Kashmiri Muslims especially the separatist elements launched a protest against the land transfer

Security forces were attacked and National Flag was burnt

Pakistani Flag was hoisted at Lal Chowk

The entire valley shouted "Hindustan Hai-Hai", "We want Freedom", "We will share land with Hindus over our dead bodies" and "Pakistan Zindabad"

As usual the Congress government succumbed to the separatist. The order which was passed by the assembly was revoked by a minority government. (The order was revoked after PDP withdrew support)

Kashmiri Muslims Protesting against Land Allocation

Haj Subsidy
  • There are multiple Haj Terminus and 16 embarkation points in the country
  • The Haj subsidy in 2006 was Rs.348 crore
  • The muslim pilgrim to Jeddah pays Rs.12,000 for a return ticket. The actual cost of the ticket is Rs. 46,000. The difference  is funded by the Union Government
  • The Indian government has a Haj Office in the Indian Consulate in Jeddah, runs a hospital in Mecca and dispensaries in Mecca and Madinah, and sends doctors, nurses and para-medical staff to run these medical establishments during the pilgrimage
  • In addition, the Government has sanctioned eight ambulances and medicines for pilgrims who fall ill.
  • Though Jammu & Kashmir is one of the less-populated States in the country, it sent the fifth biggest contingent of pilgrims for Haj in 2006.
  • The Congress Government in Andhra Pradesh has taken this policy of minorityism a step further and announced subsidy for Christians who wish to visit Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus.

The Double Standards….
However in India, Hindu pilgrims to the Amarnath Shrine do not qualify for grant of a few acres of land along the yatra route for provision of basic amenities.

The population of the Hindus may be 100 crore. But in India, Hindu pilgrims are not entitled to even 100 acres

The Kashmiri politicians claim that by allocating land to the Sri Amarnath Shrine Board, the State Government has harmed the cause of 'Kashmiriyat'. What happened to the Kashmiriyat when hundreds of Hindus and Sikhs were killed in Valley and millions of Hindus and Sikhs were forced to leave the valley?

The whole world is aware of how Hindus were driven out of the Valley. Yet, we have this disgusting spectacle of politicians like Mr Omar Abdullah from the Valley stating publicly on television channels that they oppose the transfer of 100 acres to the Sri Amarnath Shrine Board because they fear that through the transfer of these few acres of land "the demographic character of Kashmir is being altered".

PEOPLE OF JAMMU WHO STILL BELIEVE IN INDIA ..... NEED YOU .....

If we lose this battle, we will lose the country to Islamic forces

Support the movement. Forward this presentation to all your friends and people you know.

Water , electricity , media , SMS all blocked in Jammu from 34 days as of 3rd August.

Minority Hindu refugees and locals dragged from homes and beaten mercilessly by Muslim fundamentalist Police force of JK.

Kuldeep Dogra who sacrificed his life not by killing others but by consuming VISH in front of Police against Land transfer was followed by arrest of 1500 people, Injuring of 700,seriously injured 475, 5 killed in Police Firing.

Don't sleep please post your views, forward it to your friends........

The volcano of Hindu Fury

aug 26th, 2008

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: Heritage

Dear Friends,

How true what I received is. We all have to think about this deeply.

v

also see pdf 'the truth about amarnath' posted at rajeev.posterous.com

The volcano of Hindu fury
erupts sometimes

INSTEAD
of calling an all-party meet
to resolve the Jammu and Kashmir row,
the government

would do well to try to understand
the fury of Hindus and not limit the scope
of the introspection to
the Amarnath issue.

Are Hindus angry only with the hypocrisy
of the government on the land issue?

Are there no other topics
that make them furious?

Hindus are a peace-loving people.
The average Hindu is easy-going
and accepts you and your diversity,
whether you are
Christian, Muslim, Parsi or Jain, Arab, French or Chinese.
He goes about his business and usually
does not interfere in yours.
In fact they take it a little further:
They hate trouble
and go out of their way to avoid it.

Everywhere in the world,
on the other hand,

Hindus are hounded and humiliated;
be it in Fiji
where an elected government
was twice deposed in an armed coup,
or in Pakistan and Bangladesh,
where Muslims target Hindus every time
they want to vent their anger against India

(read Taslima Nasreen's book Lajja).
There were one million Hindus
in the valley of Kashmir in 1900.
Only a few hundred are left today,
the rest having been forced to flee through terror.
In Assam, Tripura, or Nagaland,
Hindus are being outnumbered by
Bangladeshi illegal immigrants
and terrorised by pro-Christian separatist groups,
such as the Bodos or the Mizos,
while local governments often turn a blind eye.
Their temples
are being taken over in states like
Kerala or Karnataka,
the donations appropriated by the state governments.

Yet in 3,500 years of known existence,
Hindus
have never invaded another country
and never tried to impose their religion upon others.
No, it has rather been through peaceful
invasions that Hinduism has stormed the world,
whether in the East,
witness Angkor Wat,
or in the West today,

where the byproducts of Hinduism, yoga, meditation,
ayurveda, pranayama have been adopted by millions.

Hindus also gave refuge to
all persecuted minorities of the world.
It's a pity that these two communities turned
against their Hindu brethren,
the former by way of lured conversions,
and the latter with bloody invasions.

Hindus,
who accept everybody and welcome all religions
are mocked and bombs
are planted in their markets,
their trains and temples are attacked,
they are chased out of their homelands;
television and newspapers make fun of them,
their own politicians ostracise them.

So, sometimes,
Enough is Enough.
At some point,
Hindus, the most peace-loving people in the world,
those Mahatma Gandhi once called gently
'cowards',
erupt in fury — uncontrolled fury.

Yes,
one should condemn the Gujarat pogrom,
but
one should look also at the causes.

It is not only the 36 innocent
Hindu women and children

who were burnt to death in a train by a mob of criminals.
It is also how much silent frustration
and anger must have built over the years,
decades, or centuries even,
amongst Gujarati Hindus,
that in one moment,
1,25.000 Hindus,
normal, peaceful people,
came out on the streets of Ahmedabad with such fury.

The same thing is true of
Jammu and the Amarnath issue.
Hindus never complain about their government
giving billion of rupees to Indian Muslims
for the pilgrimage to Mecca.
But
when Hindus need shelters,
toilets and basic facilities at a height of 15,000 feet

to worship at Amarnath,
it is denied by the same government.
So they erupt in fury.

Instead of appealing for calm
and communal harmony,
instead of giving us all this eyewash about
a 500-year-old Dargah
'mostly patronised by Hindus'
political leaders, journalists, and spiritual leaders,
would do well to look at the root cause of
Hindu fury, and try to address their frustrations.

Journalists should also do
a little bit of introspection.
Hindus have had enough. If this government,
or the next, does not take note of their frustrations,
we might very well see more Jammus
erupting in the coming months and years.

Hinduism is more a way of life than a method of worship.
Dharmo Rakshati Rakshithaha
If you protect Dharma, Dharma will in turn protect you.
Hindus,
If people slap you once,
slap them twice!
